Let's go through the entire list of major politicians who were KKK members - ALL of them were Democrats - except for David Duke and he started out as a Democrat (running as a Democrat in the 1988 Presidential Primaries). In 1989 Duke switched political parties from Democrat to Republican (at which point the KKK disassociated themselves from him).

Anyone starting a thread like this needs to fully understand the long historic association of the KKK with the Democratic party in the southern U.S. This extends into the modern era - even in 2010/2012 North Carolina had KKK members running as Democratic candidates in state elections.
