Dalio warns Feds hands are tied and higher U.S. inflation is sticking around. Democracy, maybe not.

...but it sucks for people like me having to pay 10s of thousands in taxes a year.

The only good that comes out of that is the solace you must feel that you earn enough money that you have to pay 10s of thousands in taxes per year. I would kill for that level of income (well, not literally, you know what I mean.)

I hear ya'.

Good God that woman. 17 children and saying someone needs to be held accountable. Unbelievable.

That's a very telling statement, isn't it? Sometimes the "poor" do better than the working middle class.

One of the ways how? Child Care Tax credits!

Before the Child tax credit, what did the kids eat? Cheap oatmeal. Now that the parents are getting free government checks for each kid, what are the kids eating? Cheap oatmeal. Nothing has changed. The parents take that extra money and buy themselves toys. Quite a racket.

I say that tax credit needs to stop at child number 2. You are poor and decide to have more than 2 kids? That's your own problem. I ain't paying for you to become a baby mill so you can get free stuff.

Child Tax credit is not supposed to make you rich. It's supposed to only supplement you enough for you to get by so the kids won't be starving. It's just been expanded greatly due to this covid s***. That's Biden's doing, paying people to stay home, decreasing productivity and exacerbating inflation at the same time. That has nothing to do with people having kids. US is supposed to have more kids so to increase productivity especially when you don't have robotics developed.

While you guys are complaining about a single poor family, friends of the government are going to be absconding with trillions.

Focus homies, focus.

I have no problems helping those in need. I do have a problem enabling lazy and irresponsible people. If I wanted to help those in need there are charities that are far more efficient at stretching dollars and providing NEEDS than the government is at just blindly doling out thousands of dollars to people who actually get excited at tax season because they get to go on a shopping spree.

Speaking of the gov't. I think this sums it up for me.

How much do you give to charity, out of curiosity? Are those charities geared towards those a certain demographic?

I give to animal charities. I'm not a big people person, but I'm a huge animal lover. The Word says the Lord loves a cheerful giver, and animals seem to be the only ones that make me cheerful about helping them.

There are a million different charities and government programs geared towards helping people, and a tiny fraction geared towards animals. Animals have no say in their circumstances. People are pieces of shit who adopt and discard them like furniture. They dont have them spayed or neutered exacerbating the problem. Animals can't get a job or buy a home.

If you say they can eat bugs or find some type of shelter to survive, well, so can people, but people have the ability to get a job and help themselves. They also have plenty of resources to find shelter or food that day, not so with animals. So when I give to charity I give to animals, not people, and dont give a damn if people like that mentality or not.

We are much the same. My wife and I started a foundation some years back and decided we were going to restrict giving to worthy individuals and organizations. The bulk has gone to animal organizations primarily because we haven't had time many years to do the work to seek out worthwhile destinations for our funds. We've done some cool stuff under the condition we remain anonymous and seen a few individual stories where we've reached out through an intermediary and helped a bit. We hope to do much more over the coming years.
