I have always wondered if the lack of almost no women in certain areas is really due to brain differences or if it is mostly cultural. Intuitively I see no reason why Mozart couldn't have been a woman, but we have almost no women composers of classical music (I can't think of a single one). It is an interesting scientific question.

Probably more of a cultural question than a scientific one. Women
seem to keep pace with men in most areas of music save rock guitarists and composing. Of course there are women rock guitarists but not in the ratios of say women classical instrumentalists or even pop vocalists. Even virtuoso level classical instrumentalists seem to be well represented by women. I say seem because all I have to go on is what I see on television and the sense that I have.
