No, I did not think they would lose to Miami, I figured their first loss would come on this 3 game road trip. I was actually most concerned about the Giants. Well, they beat the Giants and lost to Miami, same difference.

So rather then defaulting to the "let's see who stays healthy, who gets hot, and anything can happen" responses, who do you think today, has the best chance. Injuries and streaks aside, who has the best chance right now to beat them. Stop hedging your bets so much, can't you freaking commit to any side of an issue?

So according to you, there is no point to have any kind of sports discussion at all until the day of a given sports championship? So that means we can't talk baseball, NBA, college basketball, college football, NFL or even golf or tennis? Great. There will be no sports discussion until February. Wonderful.

We can talk about which teams look to make the playoffs, that makes some sense. We can talk about who is playing with consistency. We can talk about who has playoff experience. We can talk about who we would like to have at quarterback, or as out coach in the playoffs.

But this nonsense of "who is the best right now" is just juvenile...

Each week ESPN and others have weekly ratings, they change all the time.

It means nothing, nothing at all. The playoffs have meaning, all that matters now is playoff position. I wager Tony Dungee is secretly happy the Colts lost today...

Now they can work on peaking at the right time, not weeks before the playoffs begin.

You count out teams like New England, and I am sure a coach like Belichek is hoping eveyone does...

Mav, you really don't appear to be interested in talking about sports, you are interested in talking about the Bears...and if you want to discuss it with nitro, be my guest.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for ZZZ to have a rational conversation about anything.

The more I read from that lunatic, the more apparent it becomes that he has ZERO social skills and thus has no friends or person to person interaction of any kind.

Anyway, moving forward.

1) I think the AFC is so much deeper than the NFC and their teams would be much more battle tested.

2) I have serious doubts as to the ability of Rex Grossman to win a Super Bowl.

3) I think the Bears schedule has been easy to say the least. Green Bay, Detroit, Minnesota, Buffalo, Arizona, and Miami are all sub .500 and the Jets and 49ers are at .500 (Granted, you can only play the teams on your schedule, but so far the schedule has been generous.)

Right now the Bears are easily the class of the NFC and a very solid team. However, I think the Bears would have a tough time with any of the top 3 or 4 teams from the AFC.

Wow, a warm body with a pulse. Nice to get a normal human response. I agree, Bears schedule is weak, but then again, so is Ohio State's and they are probably going to win the NCAA championship. The Bears have played a week schedule but they have annihilated their opponents as well. I look at many of the strong AFC teams and some of the powder puff teams they played and they have squeaked by most of them.

We need to break this down and look beyond schedules and look at actual matchups. If you are going to beat the Bears, it's going to have to be on the ground with a team that also has a lights out defense. I think this eliminates the Pats (weak running game), and the Colts (weak, but improved defense). I think Denver and SD are legitimate threats except I can't see Jake ever winning a superbowl nor can I see a rookie QB (Rivers) winning it all either.

I still am inclined to go back and give the edge to the Pats being that their defense and their QB are among the best in the NFL and there is no other QB I would rather have in a pressure game then Brady.

Grossman still has a lot to learn, but remember the Bears strength has never been their passing game, but their defense and running game. Grossman is just a bonus. As long as he doesn't turn the ball over in critical situations (a big if) he will be fine.

I love how well the Bears are coached and they are about as complete a team as their is (is anyone talking about how good their special teams is).

To me, it's all going to come down to the defense. Last year in the playoffs, it was their DEFENSE that let them down, not their offense, not Rex Grossman. It doesn't help having Mike Brown out for the season. But if their defense doesn't let them down, I don't see how the Pats would beat them. Of course the Bears are playing the Pats next week in New England, so we will have an answer there pretty soon.
