Absolutely. This country has engaged in a battle between liberalism and conservatism since we undertook self rule.

The party names are not what defines this country, it’s liberal vs conservative and liberal and conservative is just a name for north and south. Free states and slave states.

I’d you don’t understand this you really should not be commenting on any American history.
