CZ in jail

Once he goes UAE, he won't do any of the time. He's already paid all the fines and penalties and in his mind, he's already been punished and jail sentence is not something he's prepared to accept. His ego won't allow it. That's how rich people think. They think because they have money, they are above the law or at least they get to decide what kind of punishment they are willing to be subject to.

Once he's out of America, he's gone. The Justice Department knows that but for some very strange reason is willing to accept that eventual reality.
UAE a place to be :sneaky::sneaky:

As usually, we are going to journal our hero's (CZ, Binance's now ex-CEO) journey through the US justice system and describe the punishment he gets. So far the story:

https://www.reuters.com/technology/...-sentencing-2023-11-24/?utm_source=reddit.com

For the lazy: CZ after years of successful evasion of the long arm of the law, agreed to come to the US and face the music. Of course there was a deal.

"The company as part of a plea deal agreed to pay more than $4.3 billion. Zhao has agreed to pay a $150 million penalty to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and prosecutors in a Wednesday filing said he faces up to 18 months in prison."

Now before sentencing he would like to go to the UAE, because he has to say goodbye to his family, and maybe disappear for a while. Prosecution is arguing that fat chance. He is out on a 175 MM bond.

The funniest comments from Reddit:

--Your honor, I have some errands I need to run in Dubai. Can I leave, pretty please?
--Sure, but please exit though the NY city Department of Corrections gate.

--"I uh... left the oven running. In Non-Extradition-Landia. You know, in the middle of Nowheresville? I uh gotta go."

--The judge should reject the request and deliver a succinct and clear justification for their decision that simply says "4"
--"decades in prison"
--Cell block, chained
To all the CZ supporters: If he and his company was such a NICE eand Honest category why did they not get regulated in USA from day 1 .. with the money he has it should not have been that difficult

What is wrong in a regulator taking action against somebody running non regulated exchange?
What's wrong is the governments and regulatory bodies being control-freaks, everything has to be run by them first and get passed after, why is that?
Who, ever at what point said that everything has to be controlled by some organization somewhere made by someone you don't really know or trust to be on what agenda?

So you support unregulated activity where crooks will have a filed day.... say that when you loose ton of money .... how about those Israel based Binary option scams .... a fair regulation for retail is a good thing
