HFT traders wil do whatever it takes to make money. They have unlimited capital something small traders do not have. Small traders are poor. They are just poor.

Parallel computing has it's own set of problems. For one it's harder to debug applications and write code. It's great for applications where the result of one operation does not depend on the result of others. I suspect it will find a home and already has with some algo traders, but it is not a panacea.
