Cuba

That would be a real test of the people of Cuba. The Casinos have to represent capitalism to them... are they trained to really not like capitalism or are they trained to just say that to keep Castro off their front porches... time will tell...

Cuba has thousands of miles of pristine beaches I'm told. That is going to be a heck of a draw if they open up for more commerce....

Varadero is one of the longest stretches of just beach in the world:

I would love to see Cuba be a hybrid between Israel or Singapore and what it was in it's heyday. In other words, a place of high tech companies and great vacation spot.

I was in Havana 3 weeks ago, it is the most refreshing vacation from this urban capitalist nightmare that is North America I have ever had.

If Americans are allowed free reign in Cuba it will be ruined.

I spent 2 weeks in Cuba (mainly in Havana ) in 1991 and it was original and refreshing. I like Cubans their music, women, rum and smokes. Good old times!
So close to the US and yet so different.

Casino's may take off but I think that would be quite a long term play. Can anyone think of any shorter term benefits that could rise out of this if it happens?
