CTA that don't trend-follow

Thank God you gave me a victory here, now we're even. Bad mistake you couldn't just take your victory graciously had to try and rub it in. Too ez man...

Lol, I am not looking for "victories" or defeats on this stupid thing we call Internet. I post what I do so others can understand the thread context.

I keep reading that CTAs are trend followers. Period. And probably 90 percent or more are. But aren't there some CTA that just employ an option writing strategy? What about other non trend following strategies?
Old Trend following models are outdated, and CTAs that use that model have either closed shop and switched into a different system... The markets are in range 90 percent of the time, expansion or contraction, it's do or die, pattern recognition and systems based on time decay have done well for the last 10 years...Trend following worked when most people had latent data and the pits were active(70s to early 90s),
