CTA diploma : how to get it ?

Is only a couple hundred, if you chose not to become a "member" of the NFA. You can call the NFA to find out.

One good thing about having a CTA is that you can "hang" your Series 3 exam with it, as a sole-proprietorship.

So basically there is no exam to be a CTA except S3, and you basically have to pay to get it ?

What are the benefits on being part of NFA ?

Thanks

looks like the CTA is what you have to do if you want to setup your own independent business rather than working for a firm. I guess its sort of like being a registered investment advisor.

NFA members can only do futures related business with other NFA members. Everyone on the exchange, and the exchanges themselves, are required to be NFA members.

Don't you have to have at least 2 years as a Registered Futures Specialist (i.e.: be a broker under someone else's 'tutelage') in order to become a CTA?
