Bull or Bear Market?

The big elephant in the room is determining if we are still in a bull market or are we in bear market that will grind down lower and lower over the course of the year and even longer

Bear Market

Can't blame the Fed as J Powell and team have been very clear on what they were going to do. All investors in all markets were given a gift of advance warning

Speaking for myself, I kinda thought (wrongly) that Bitcoin and cryptos would be the safe haven during the market turmoil

Anyway, now that it's here..

How long will this last?
  • The last 2 bear markets I experienced both lasted more than 2 years (Jan/2014 to Sept/2016 and Jan 2018 to Dec/2019 extended to March/2020)
How low will the crypto assets go?
  • Bitcoin could go down more than 85% from the top and many altcoins and NFT's could go down more than 90% from the top
What am I doing?
  • Hodl and have enough funds to survive this period
What happens next?
  • When the next bull market is here, there will be many opportunities for tremendous profits
  • I would start putting small positions on the next hot sectors, no need to risk too much capital, the key is not to cash out too soon
  • Seems simple enough. Bull markets in cryptos are very forgiving to mistakes. I made many many mistakes on this last cycle but still survived

Hey Jack, you think Bitcoin is going to $0? You're more delusional than I thought

I will hodl Bitcoin until it goes to $5K and will be adding like a maniac if it hits that price, and every $1K drop, thereafter

I will go back to work so I can keep putting all my income to Bitcoin at that price

Thanks for the kind advice

I love being in control of my time and schedule

It's like being on a permanent vacation and even when I have to do certain things like shopping for groceries or other supplies, I can choose when to do it and even change my mind at the last minute, lol

Too bad travel and leisure stuff are not as fun after covid, hope it comes back to the way it was before covid

My wife is on board with the Bitcoin and cryptos investments and decisions

It was kinda funny that 2 days ago while in the car, we were thinking about the bear market of 2014-2016 and why I did not use her credit card or why we did not get personal loans to buy more bitcoins

I reminded her that during that time, we were actually kicking ourselves for not selling the top and would have had $50K in the bank

Buying more during a bear market is easy to do when it has already passed. Truth of the matter was that we were scared to put more money in to Bitcoin during the bear market and we wished we sold all at the top

Which brings us to the current bear market. Of course I would run it by her, but if we see BTC price of $5K, I think it will be an easy agreement for both of us that we will start buying and buying as it goes even lower

Yes, giving up FIRE sucks, but I don't mind going back to work. I like my field of work which is in computers so I enjoy the work, not the schedule or other work processes
 
Since cryptos market has a correlation with the Tech (growth) stocks, I thought this video was interesting on how the "others" are handling this ,what they see, and how to survive

I'm doing the same thing, got enough cash to ride this through, unless it takes longer than 5 years..

 
There's been a lot of copium on Crypto Twitter (CT) lately and some have youtube channels, so I share here

It may be a long crypto winter, we need to keep ourselves entertained, lol
