Crypto alternatives - trading 2018. Thoughts for article.

Newbie Alert! I’m a Europe-based journalist researching an article about mainstream crypto alternatives to Bitcoin. Specifically, Bitcoin alternatives that have the most trading potential for the next 12 months.

One of the challenges of researching this area is that the crypto volatility is so extreme. Any thoughts on this area, however broadbrush though, would be appreciated though.

Thank you very much.

You don't think that "mainstream" and "crypto alternatives" might - at least to some extent - be inherently conflicting concepts, then?

I think he means "major" or "most well-known". Those 3 coins are probably regarded as mainstream within the investor community with an interest in cryptocurrencies.

I'm not sure what you mean by "trading potential", and/or how you measure this.

However if you're after heavily traded cryptocurrencies, there's no need to ask people on Elitetrader for names of coins. Just visit
https://coinmarketcap.com/ (coins sorted by "market capitalization") and
https://www.worldcoinindex.com/ (coins sorted by volume in the last 24 hours)

Ripple was always a big play. Some of the most conservative and respected banks in the world were all over Ripple from the start which was a huge indicator the technology was big.

You have to love the typical, misinforming, know-it-alls in this forum that said it wasnt suppose to be a high value currency and worth more than 10-20 cents.

The potential damage some of the people in this forum create with their misinformation and stupid 'like' endorsements is enormous.

P.S Ripple isn't a Bitcoin alternative.

You are on the wrong forum try www.reddit.com www.bitcointalk.org

Though look at the move in gold. Most higher closes since became freely floating in 1971. The person at the Fed who sells 4,000 gold futures at market is still on their holidays.
