Crushed by the Leftist Juggernaut: One Lawyer’s Story

Of course you're right, but we're at the point now that this has become so pervasive and dangerous that we have to demand some action from the government. Yes, they're "private companies" and have the freedom to fire you, refuse you service, ruin your business, etc but at one time in this country restaurants and hotels could turn blacks away. We passed laws to prohibit it.

Conservatives act like it is more important to protect Silicon Valley monopolists, indeed to give them massive tax cuts, than to preserve their own freedom to use social media, payment systems, the internet, banking services and a whole host of other things that are being arbitrarily denied people simply because they hold the wrong political opinions.

There are plenty of things Trump could do without congress to stop it but as usual, he is all talk and no action, except where Israel is concerned. The dirty little secret is that establishment republicans and the corrupt "Conservative Movement" are ok with the right being censored and forced into hiding. They see them as pests and competition. The right interferes with their thirst for more pointless wars and blocks their open borders/amnesty agenda.

I'd be cautious about asking the government for help on anything. They haven't exactly shown themselves to be good at solving issues like this and end up creating more problems than they solve.

I know but what exactly is the alternative? You just got through saying conservatives need to hide their beliefs because of job, etc repercussions. We're already not allowed to mention religious affiliation unless it is muslim or jewish. Then we get special privileges.

Now anyone to the right of the Bush family is being systematically purged from all social media. The actor James Woods, hardly a dangerous radical, was just kicked off twitter.

The alternative, is do not incite violence and spread lies. Most of my friends and family are conservatives, I was also turning into Republican until Trump came along, and they post their views on FB and Twitter with no issues. But they do not post or repost fake shit and conspiracies.

I get it. I'm not saying that we should do or should not do anything. But awareness is something we need to possess. If we take a risk and publicly declare something that is socially unpopular (right or wrongly) then we have to accept the consequences. I'm telling you that we should protect ourselves accordingly. I'm not saying it is right.

When you go to a bad area of town, you need to rely on situational awareness to remain safe. There are bad people about and you need to pay extra attention to make sure you and who you are with remain safe. The alternative is not to go to a bad part of town.

But if you go to a bad part of town and walk around flouting your money, wearing an expensive watch and acting very loud, drawing attention to yourself, then you should expect trouble. This doesn't mean you shouldn't have the right to be loud and draw attention to yourself. Just that some caution is warranted. This is the same thing.

Oh please. The left has more than its fair share of spreading lies and bullshit, and being aggressive and inciting violence.

No doubt, but I never did or would. Same for my close circle of friends and family members. I wish more did the same.

Trust me, our dinner topics gets heated at times, and both sides use arguments to convince the other, but while we disagree we all respect each other.

Fine but there are laws against robbing people, even if they are in a bad part of town.

Social media monopolists and other censors are not constrained by any laws now. Same with employers, financial services firms, websites, etc etc. They can't fire you because you are a muslim who frequents a radical mosque but they can fire you if you voice support for the President of the United States.

Republicans either have to put an immediate stop to this or they can kiss their political careers good-by.

First, there are laws against robbing people, yes. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be aware of what happens when you go to the bad part of town. This is about awareness and responsibility, not right and wrong.

Employers have always had the right to fire someone for views they do not believe represent their own if posted in public in a way that may affect their business. I am a senior executive of my company. If I go out and publicly declare that I hate Jews (as an example, I do not hate Jews or any race of people) then my board should take action against me. I don't get to use the 1st amendment to protect my speech.

As for what Republicans have to do before they kiss their political careers goodbye, please. We've been threatening the GOP for so long that we've forgotten the full extent of promises they have broken. Our President is the King of Promise Breakers. And We the People haven't done shit about it. What incentive do they have to change if we never change and hold them accountable?

I wish there were more that would behave this way.
