This entire thread is just a setup though. Come on, asking what trading the CL is like? He has been trading for years and years and is asking how its like trading it? Just look at the damn chart to see. If he has been trading for years, he can see the types of entries he would make and see if it could in any way work.

What is someone going to saying? Trading CL is like eating ice creams and watching unicorns go by???

Zela is, in my opinion, a sincere and thoughtful contributor as well as there are about 5 others whose posts are helpful. Without those this forum is really egocentric folks who for whatever reason consider bashing a team sport for playing with ET. (Just maybe, Those are the Trolls?)
 
Hope, Baron, and the Mods, take note -- it is those that Bash and Hash everyone with the idea that they are evil and have an ulterior motive to snag a fool here.

Those individuals are what eventually Ruins a forum like E.T.

It ends up as a war of bashers and worthless comments. I have never used the "report" function on ET but maybe it should be used; particularly by those who wish to notify the police of wrong doers. Congrats to all of the ET vigilantes.

Just use the "report" rather than the need to toss slings and arrows. For those who may be unaware of the "report" find it right below the posts on the left-hand margin.

Note also, that you can always stop following this thread. Or for that matter start one of your own. Perhaps, "Let's Clean and Purge all the Unwelcomed Evil and Dangerous" posters.

Also, there is a myriad of courses, gurus, software, and tools for sale to make one a profitable trader with "Red Light Green Lights and/or Arrows that when followed will make one rich.

So agreed there is a need for caveat emptor.

But I don't find it necessary to do Baron's or Mods job to be the ET police.

As the Original Poster and thread owner, I strongly suggest you get in touch with Buy1Sell2 -- as in my opinion, --after reading his Journal on day trading the ES, he has found the Holy Grail, and is the master of trading futures. So hook up with him -- should be a great help. (Review his Lengthy Jornal here in E.T. and you, no doubt will find it helpful.

i like his ES journal much more than his counterTrend comments on CL/TX TEA+ i 've told him that. I cant really blame him for taking 20 or 50 days to reply to a post- been there done that,2 LOL. OIL tends to trend better than ES;
ES was designed for traders. Oil + oil related stocks+ oil related stuff was created for use-so its a complete different trend-friend market:cool:

Hi SteveA,

If you're looking for a liquid futures instrument that isn't traded by "algos," I don't think you're gonna find one. The "algos" trade everything, especially futures like CL that are regularly in the top 5 traded futures by volume.

With that said, IMO CL is probably as good an instrument to trade as any. It has a lot more vol than ES and plenty of liquidity unless you're trying to push 50 contracts after hours.
