Crowdfund a trading account?

Quote from NoDoji:

If your current trading ability is good enough to attract investors, you don't need crowdfunding.

You are contradicting yourself with that sentence because crowdfunding is a pool of investors.

Crowdfunding = Investors

If it isn't, then it's always other people's money you're using, eventually :D

Ridiculous! Everyone who thinks they can manage money has a great track record. It's self selective bias. CF is merely marketing. Nothing happens without marketing. Even stealth marketing works as you are well aware.

OP

Why not try the crowd funding? See what happens. Nothing to Loose!

Don't listen to the "know It Alls".

What kind of mentality is that?

Learn to trade well and you wont need investors.

LMFAO! Name one verified wealthy private trader who started out without much money and doesn't trade OPM.

I know you can't. Stop spreading the lie! You work for a broker no doubt.

Quote from FXforex:

Has anybody considered raising funds for a trading account through crowdfunding?

What is the product you are offering?
Does that product require the normal regulatory checks?
What are you then offering in return?

Unless a lot of these are offered legitimately, what you are suggesting is often referred to as a scam......and so yes....lots of people have actually already done this!

Please define "wealthy private trader who started out without much money".

For example, you talking about someone that takes 12k and trades the heck out of it into over a 1 million dollar profit as a private trader or something similar regardless to how he/she got the 12k to start trading ???

Quote from altoid:

He is a Prop trader with Genesis--therefore he trades OPM. not to mention that was way back in 2008--- got anyone else?

Al

I believe he traded his own money (when I asked him back then he said he started with a mid 5-figure account of his own money), and he posted far more recently that he's financially independent thanks to trading gains and no longer has to worry about money.

That sounds like success to me.

ADD: Genesis doesn't even fund traders:

Genesis Securities, LLC provides security brokerage services and technology for professional electronic traders. Its solutions include Laser, a trading platform; connectivity; and market data, such as streaming NASDAQ Level I and II quotes, streaming NYSE/AMEX quotes, indices and futures quotes, ECN books, direct access to market data, NASDAQ's TotalView and OpenView products, and NYSE OpenBook. The company has strategic alliances with NASDAQ, Global FX, LLC, Trade Bolt, SmartQuant, Trade Ideas, MADSCAN, realitytrader, Marco Polo Network, and eSignal. Genesis Securities, LLC was formerly known as Genesis Day Trade, LLC and changed its name to Genesis Securities, LLC in March 2002.

No, I'm talking about someone who can maintain their lifestyle without trading or working from the money made trading. Just like countless business people who built a business and retired on the proceeds with the same lifestyle.

A question for you and all the others who claim highly successful trading is either impossible or a blatant lie (and there seems to be many of you on ET):

Why is it impossible, specifically?
