Crooks Hijack Online Brokerage Accounts

Makes me glad I'm a geek. This article has made the decision for me to switch my trading PC to Linux or OpenBSD. Hardware firewall in front of a *nix box with my packet sniffer turned on.

I'm not saying I'm impervious, but I can say I'm not passive about security.

Any notes about running IB's TWS on Linux? Anyone running OpenBSD?

TOS's trading platform is Java based.

Runs fine on my Linux machine (Fedora Core).

Yes on XP go to Start, Programs, Accessories, Accessibility > On screen keyboard menu

it doesn't work. I keep hitting the onscreen keyboard but nothing happens.

Oh wait, its not a touchscreen monitor.

Good one Risk. Thanks.

I have yet to test the winXP OSK with keylogger software. The OSK may simply be sending keystrokes to the win kbd driver. The jitbit virtual kbd does not:

It works well and supports a few languages. It does not interact with the winXP keyboard driver, so it looks like the way to go. I'll test the windows on screen kbd in the next couple of days.

I think IB might as well runs on Linux with VMWare or the likes (they sure do with Parallels on Mac, not sure about Linux though -- haven't tried it).

Interesting. Have Snoopfree running and see that "adaware" can hook keyboard and access control. I wonder how safe adaware really is ?
