Critique of Yellen's First Year as Fed Chairman.

Nah, i said there were lots of threads/articles saying jobs will be lost IF minimum wage was raised, not in spite of.
Years ago Obama was supposedly hurting the economy via business confidence with his ideas, none of which had come into force yet. So even the mention of minimum wages to come will be sufficient to hurt business and lower hiring.

Right, and since it wasn't raised, you can't really imply that jobs weren't lost in spite of a wage hike. Thanks for seeing reason!

21 states and D.C. have raised their minimum wage for 2015. Why wasn't business confidence in late 2014 depressed and hiring plans reduced?

Who says they weren't? Do you have a small business confidence index related to the states that increased minimum wage? I don't subscribe to the NFIB data so I can't see individual states.

Secondly, many of those states you mentioned went up a nickel/dime/quarter in minimum wage, a far cry from the $15 minimum wage you keep hearing about. I don't think there are too many people out there saying that if you raised minimum wage a dime, we would be inundated with massive job losses. If there are people/articles saying that, please point them out so I can join you in shouting them down. A change to $15 is quite a different ballgame. Please point out the states that have $15 minimum wages that went into effect recently. Here are the changes if you wish to search. I did.

Most of the increases were under 25 cents. Many were legislated years in advance.

From Krugman,
There’s Something About Money

The republican mind doesn't understand much of anything. How many of the "Simple People" understand ISLM or have even heard of Hicks?

So what good is the republican mind? The republican mind does provide a type of comedy not found anywhere else. Where else can you find out that: QE drives the stock market, emerging markets are doomed with the end of QE, guns reduce crime, Reagan was for low taxes, smaller govt, etc..., Keynes is scam (LOL!), the big blogs say 1 million jobs were lost in a month, inflation is running at double digits, CO2 causes cooling, coal jobs didn't return because of Obama (no mention of natural gas), Benghazi!, FDR wanted to privatize social security, etc.......

You can criticize the republican mind but not too much; you don't want to discourage them from writing or talking!

Ah, yes. Post a Krugman article. That'll show us!
