Critical Race Theory - Parents fight back

This is what happens when white parents over react to some made up CRt supposedly being taught

The school bans all books that mention black or brown people.

For example the following were banned... yes schools banning books like good nazis..

Picture books Fry Bread: A Native American Story by Kevin Noble Maillard
I Am Rosa Parks by Brad Meltzer
Malala's Magic Pencil by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai
They Called Us Enemy, George Takei's graphic memoir about Japanese internment.

In case you are wondering what the mostly whie parents think:
York parent Matt Weyant commended the school board for implementing the ban.
"I don't want my daughter growing up feeling guilty because she's White," he said.

Brad Meltzer, a New York Times best-selling author and creator of the "I Am" series that follows ordinary people who changed the world, is the writer of at least two books banned by the school board. Both his I Am Martin Luther King, Jr. and I Am Rosa Parks books are not permitted in the school.

So reading about Rosa Parks and brown girl Malala is going to make your daughter feel bad because she is white...

If white people feel guilty because their kids are simply learning about black and brown people then they need to see a shrink and deal with that shit themselves. Whitewashing history is not the answer.

Not surprising this is the only county that really made a stink and it is 60% trump voting country. Their answer was to ban all books on black or brown people even though CRT is not taught or discussed in the curriculum at all.

Let me say I saw this article about banning books in this Pennsylvania school district and I believe the school board was idiotic for banning these particular books. At least they reversed their decision quickly after community outcry. These books are part of a diverse history education -- they are not CRT curriculum .

If the books (not these books) were part of an "equity" curriculum which belittled and demeaned children on the basis of race then it would be a different situation.

I support a diverse education of history in schools on a factual basis including all the negative points and social issues around race. This is very different than a CRT curriculum which demeans and belittles children on the basis of race.

Also -- I will note there is a similar situation with book banning in context of "CRT" going on in a Tennessee school district.

Bla bla a terminology has been hijacked, reinvented and and framed around the US left as something being done to little kids thats not really real. College students are a different matter.

I'll be eating my child meat and pineapple pizza later, hail Santa (I'm dyslexic, don't trigger me!). Boy has cried wolf bitches.

The right is making another imagined dragon to slay. And heaven forbid it be used to censor any mention of the sad reality of southern history in those states to stop CRT the magic dragon.

End of.

These were just normal books.....but the whites got all hyper over CRT which was never taught in that county and they rushed to ban books one parent said they did not want any books that would make her daughter feel guilty...

This is the bullshit that happens when people overreact and whitey wants to start banning any racial education.

You keep chiming in with belittling children and nothing in that county was belittling children, the parents just went full fucktard.

texas straight up banned teaching civil rights movement.

see, sabotage public education for left leaning parents by banning history and instituting mask/vaccine bans, sabotage it for cons by telling them "marxism at our schools via CRT".

Dumbest generation ever.

History tends to cycle.

Bad things happen.
A generation learns from the results and enacts 'fixes.'
Future generations are ignorant to the underlying problems that brought about the fixes.
Future generations question the need for the 'fixes,' vilifies, and removes them.
Rinse repeat.

Root cause: That's right ... the educational system.

Teaching diverse history is very different than CRT. However I agree these parent are idiots in rushing to ban these books.

Maybe you need to look up how "equity" education belittles and demeans children on the basis of race. In fact CRT curriculum is written around doing this to the students. It may be acceptable at the university level on a voluntary basis but has no place in K-12 education.

I will start worrying about the faux outrage of the mostly fake claim that CRT being taught in schools where it is not even in the curriculum when white people stop doing shit like this:

Park Hill South High School condemns petition students circulated calling to bring back slavery

Students with direct knowledge of the situation tell FOX4 the petition to bring back slavery was something peers shared online. Soon, there were leaked screenshots of petition comments, including things like “I hate blacks” and “I love slavery.”

that is what happens when you traffic/peddle misinformation. Vaccines, antifa, 'pervasive CRT', no difference

that is what happens when you traffic/peddle misinformation. Vaccines, antifa, 'pervasive CRT', no difference

Tell me why the Democratic mayors of our local cities, Raleigh and Durham have continual called out ANTIFA by name for their violence and damage in our downtown districts.

Tell me how the Wake County lesson plan where white children are separated from the minority members of the class and called out as Oppressors is not CRT. Can you explain why this should not upset parents?

When you can point to direct incidents over and over again that are factual then it is not misinformation. If it was misinformation then Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc. would remove the statements from mayors, parents and others from their websites.
