Donald will probably make an appearance at the beginning of the graduation ceremony and then split to fly to the fundraiser. I lay odds that Donald spends less than 15 minutes at the graduation ceremony. We will see how it pans out.

Defense asks for a dismissal of the charges

Defense attorney Todd Blanche is asking for a dismissal of the charges.

Blanche is arguing that the prosecution did not prove their case against Trump.

Donald Trump is staring at Blanche as he's speaking. His body is turned almost around to watch his attorney.

Remember: This is routine. It is typical practice that after the prosecution rests, a defendant's attorneys will move to dismiss the case.

Judge Juan Merchan has three options:

He can grant the motion dismissing the case or a particular count on the ground that the evidence is not legally sufficient to establish the offense charged or any lesser included offense, can deny the motion, or can reserve a decision until after the verdict has been rendered by the jury.

Donald Trump didn't testify at the end of his Manhattan criminal trial, despite teasing multiple times that he would do so.

When asked about this discrepancy outside the courtroom, eldest Trump son Donald Trump Jr. told MSNBC's Vaughn Hillyard the prosecution was a "sham" to begin with.

"I attempted to ask multiple times about the decision for Donald Trump not to testify," the reporter explained. "Because it was Donald Trump himself who repeatedly suggested that he would, in fact, take the stand and tell his truth to this jury. Ultimately, when the opportunity was presented to him today, the defense rested its case and chose him not to take the stand."

Critics have mocked Trump as a "coward" for refusing to testify under oath in his own defense.

'I tried to follow up with the question: Donald Trump had the opportunity to share his version of the story with the jury, and he chose not to," Hillyard recalled to the hosts.

Finally, Hillyard said that Don Jr. began to explain.

"Why would you justify this insanity? Look at the clowns that they put on there — you don't subject yourself to that nonsense," he said, evidently speaking of the jury. "You are going into a kangaroo court. There's nothing more. Nothing less. There'd be absolutely no reason, no justification to do that whatsoever."
