Creative thinking. How to short the dollar.

Lets think of ways we can short the dollar, but lets also keep in mind that there are plenty of other crappy cuurencies out there which will counteract the weakness in the dollar.

Gold... I guess thats one way.

Realestate.. too many forces counteracting this buy.. but maybe the time is close.

commodity fund...
wins if there is infastructure projects
wins if dollar weakens
wins if mkt goes up

loses if dollar strenthens coupled with continued mkt downturn
 
if you want to short the dollar:

short treasuries, bonds, notes.

if you want to hedge:

long gold, other commodities... euro, yuan, yen, if you need paper.
 
I believe you can get short the USD via the UDN ETF. The profile of this ETF from Yahoo is:

You can also get long the USD via the UUP ETF.

commodities are a 2 edged sword. They could stay at low levels even with a weak dollar if the economy is bad enough.
