Creating your own DOM

I would like to build my own order entry system (DOM). If anyone has done this before can they give me some pointers.

Ozzy, before you go to all that trouble, are you absolutely convinced that DOM has predictive value? Regards, Al.

I would like to brush up on my programming skills thats one of the main reasons I want to do this. I do believe watching the DOM helps in conjunction with charts (especially for shorter term trades).

DO you mean DOM or price ladder, they are different although often a price ladder incorporates a DOM(depth of market).

Price ladder......very simalar to Ninja and the other order entry systems.

I'm not really sure what you want to know. If you're seeking to create something like IB's book trader, I can give you a few pointers (no pun intended) to doing it in Java.

What code language are you going to use or thinking of using... what API is it going to tap into...
