Creating a backup usb install for Windows 10 upgrade

He then starts deleting the case number, so I power off my computer.

I then hang up the phone, I turn back on the computer and go to task manage and see an unknown program is running on startup, so I uncheck to disable it.

I then reboot the computer again, and install an anti malware program which does in fact find 2 threats and gets rid of them.

They probably came from some freeware that I previously installed.

However, the hackers are now smarter, instead of just messing up your computer a bit, the freeware creates an error that if you search for it on google brings you to their scam website where they try to steal money from you to fix the problem that they created.

What's funny if you are now running in real time mode the anti malware software it will not even let you enter their website. It warns you of fraud.

However, google is still taking money from these scammers to advertise their site at the top of their search results.

It sounds like you were very close to being locked out of your computer by this "Indian help desk scam". There are multiple videos on YouTube that show how they do this. You might recognize yourself as a victim if you watch any of these.
Moral of the story: never call any of these so-called "help desks", and never let someone you don't know have access to your computer.

No the manual start is useless since their are certain processes on my computer that will manually start it. You are assuming that manual start means the user himself manually needs to start it.

So far disable and recovery set do nothing seems to be working better.

Probably my mistake was not to just type https://www.netgear.com/support/

However, I was trying to use Google to find out information about the error message.

Also, it is illegal to create a website pretending to be another company. For example, if I create a website with Dell's logo and claim to be Dell and then advertise on Google to trick people in buying Dell's computers or service from me that is criminal. If people call the number and the person answers and says this is Dell and they work for Dell that is illegal.

I have reported it to Google but they have done nothing to take down the search result. So basically Google is acting in a criminal manner since they now know this to be fraud. Also, as noted if you install anti spyware on your computer it will not even let you open that website and give you are warning that it is fraud.

Also, when I called actually companies like Microsoft before directly from their real website I do need to let them take over the computer to fix the issue that their Windows update caused. This is why on one of my computers I no longer wish to update it.

I have the impression that you have a rather naive mindset in this internet-age. This mindset may cause you damage, so please be very careful with what you do.

Well I am glad that you are perfect and never make any mistakes. However, that is why I use a stop loss. Obviously I am not sharing it for you since u need no help with anything.

Instead it is to help those who may make the same mistake or want to configure Windows like I do. It seems this fake company is making tons of money for doing nothing but fraud. I am sure they make more money to hire all of their hackers than you do.

Please feel free to no longer follow my thread or post here.

For those who wish to post on my thread, please be respectful or just post in the politics threads where anything goes.

I'm making the move to Linux and will use a virtual Windows machine if absolutely needed. I'm about 75% done with the switch.

Yes, I hate the new notifications. Just got a new one on 2 computers about fixing a password on shared experience. This is strange since I am able to log on to both machines with my passwords and no problems. I think the computer is mad at me since I may have figured out how to stop Windows updates. LOL.

Maybe try the procedure in https://www.windowscentral.com/how-clear-softwaredistribution-folder-windows-10
or
start->settings->update and security->troubleshoot->windows update->run the troubleshooter-> (give admin rights)->apply this fix

So today, Windows 10 wanted to try to do a feature update even though it has not bothered me for a few weeks.

It said update pending. I told it I will reschedule later and again contacted Microsoft Support.

Seems like I got someone pretty smart this time. So I will go over what they did.

1) I believe they set under local services

a) Cryptographic services to manual and also stopped it.

2) Downloaded and ran wushowhide. I believe this allows you to hide windows updates that you don't want to install. If for some reason you can't download this trouble shooting file from Microsoft and want it, I can e-mail it to you. I am also saving a copy on my google cloud drive.

3) He then hid the feature update, and told me to reboot the computer which I did, and the update thankfully did not try to install itself.
