More than 1 million American deaths have been attributed to that virus. Even after draconian measures, including school closures, stoppage of non-COVID medical care, business shutdowns, personal restrictions, and then the continuation of many restrictions and mandates in the presence of a vaccine, there was an undeniable failure—over two presidential administrations—to stop cases from rapidly escalating.

Simply, they decided 5 million to 20 million American lives lost to Covid would have been too much for American society to bear along with the fact that it would have overwhelmed our healthcare system.
Reminder, many Americans didn't give a fuck regardless to their political alignment. They still party without masks, attended crowded events, protested about many things occurring in this Pandemic and allowed others not part of their family into their homes prior to being vaccinated even when vaccines became available.
The true Covidiots continue to do the above (I don't give a fuck) after family members had either died from a severe Covid illness or hospitalized/ICU admitted from a severe Covid illness.
Last of all, our military branches were +90% volunteer vaccinated prior to any vaccine mandates. Just as important, our military branches has the best performance of any occupation in America against Covid disease and our military branches has the least reported vaccination death/severe illness.
In fact, our military & veterans are the ONLY occupation that are continuing to test and follow our soldiers medical history after a Covid infection and/or Covid vaccination...
I myself am part of several health studies (Vaccination studies) that will follow me for the rest of my life as long as I continue to use VA Hospital resources whenever I'm in the United States.
