A Running List of Right-Wing Politicians and Media Figures Who Downplayed the Virus But Skipped the Line to Get a Vaccine

Going into the last shopping days before Christmas, I assumed the super-hot gift that everyone wanted but only the connected and wealthy would get would be the new PlayStation 5. But as it turns out, the real gift is a fresh dose of the covid vaccine—and, just like the PS5, there’s a long f@cking line to get one.

But as is the usual case in the country with some of the worst healthcare systems of any high-income nation, there’s been a bit of line cutting. In what the White House described as a “continuity of governance” plan, members of Congress will be among the first in the country to get vaccinated against covid—even the ones who spent months denying the severity of the virus, shirking social distancing, and blasting mask mandates because of Trump’s deadly strategy that herd immunity was the way to go. So let’s look with envy upon some of the worst a$$holes who get this great gift for doing absolutely nothing!

Those people that are covid-deniers, on record in stating they do not believe in the science of face mask or backed Trump when he called it a Democratic Hoax...

They should be place last in line for the vaccination shots.

Yet, if they were to denounce there prior statements along with an apology...sure...let them get vaccinated if they want with the rest of congress.

I think a lot of Covid deniers really don't want to believe such a horrible thing can exist in this world.

I think a lot of Covid deniers really don't want to believe such a horrible thing can exist in this world.

The people a few houses down from my 2nd home in the U.S. are Covid-deniers and my family know whom they are so that they do not associate with them nor their small children.

In contrast, congressional members and the President are a different thing...their opinions may have caused thousands of deaths via convincing others to not put on a face mask, attend a crowed local event, go to over-crowded bars just because the leaders were able to get them to believe the same crap.

Simply, they had a responsibility to the American people and they failed via making a health crisis a political event instead of dealing with it as a health crisis. Just as ironic, the same idiots voted the shut down the economy for something they thought was just like a cold or the flu.

It's the main reason why they put all their faith in the vaccines back in April through the summer...why they said it will "just go away on its own".

Now we know the president knew back in February that it was deadly and airborne and his accomplices still publicly downplayed it with him.

Now they get to be vaccinated for something that they downplayed, refer to it as a democratic hoax, refer to it as the flu / common cold and then help to shut down the economy...

Madness

The congressional leaders that spoke up and did not support that Madness...those representatives should be first in line while the other idiots should wait in back of the line with the rest of us until we can get vaccinated by next spring. That includes the entire Trump administration, press secretaries, talk show hosts, fox news media, newsmax media...call them all out...put everyone of them in back of the line.

Nearly 320,000 Covid-19 death...had they pretended to care...maybe there would be less than 50k Covid-19 deaths and I say that because there are other countries that did not lockdown and took Covid-19 very serious...they believed in the science right out of the gate.

Like I've said before.

These people are simply bullshitters.

Don't argue with a bullshitter, about their bullshit. Just call them out with facts.

Just as Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham etc. initially told the truth about trump, but later told bullshit; so too are all these folks downplaying the virus and claiming the election was stolen.

They are simply evil people. And will do what evil people do.

Dr. Drew, Who Once Called COVID a ‘Press-Induced Panic,’ Gets COVID

California-based TV doctor Drew Pinsky, better known as Dr. Drew, tested positive for COVID-19 five days ago and is receiving monoclonal antibody infusions after other treatment drugs failed to make him better, he said in a Wednesday night video on Instagram. He said his symptoms included a fever, body aches, inflammation in his chest, high pulse rate, and feeling “neurologically... out of it.” “Every day now has become like Groundhog Day,” he said. “I feel like shit but not terrible.” The celebrity doc, a regular guest on Fox News, apologized in April for calling the emerging coronavirus crisis a “press-induced panic” in February. “My early comments about equating coronavirus with influenza were wrong,” he said. However, in a Tuesday evening post about his recovery, he thanked “Dr. Zelenko”—presumably the controversial New York doctor who has touted dubious treatments.

Over the weekend, a Wisconsin hospital announced that it had been forced to toss more than 500 doses of the coronavirus vaccine because an employee accidentally left dozens of vials unrefrigerated overnight.

But on Wednesday, the hospital said the incident was no accident.

In fact, the employee at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wis., later admitted to purposefully removing more than 50 vials of the Moderna vaccine from a refrigerator, the hospital announced, rendering them useless.

The hospital has fired the employee, who has not yet been identified, and local and federal authorities are now investigating, the Grafton Police Department confirmed to The Washington Post early on Thursday.

The employee’s tampering will delay the inoculation process for hundreds of people, the hospital said, in a state where 3,170 new cases were reported and 40 people died Wednesday of covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, according to The Post’s coronavirus tracker.

“We are more than disappointed that this individual’s actions will result in a delay of more than 500 people receiving the vaccine,” the hospital said in a statement.

Inside the cold, complex world of getting a covid-19 vaccine into arms

Shots are slow to reach arms as Trump administration leaves final steps of mass vaccination to beleaguered states

The Wisconsin incident comes as states continue to grapple with a bumpy rollout of the first doses of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines, which were approved less than a month ago and prioritized for health-care workers and nursing home residents. So far, distribution has lagged well behind federal projections, raising concerns about whether the outgoing administration will meet its already revised goal of 20 million vaccines distributed by the end of the year.

As of Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 12.4 million doses of the vaccine had been distributed across the United States, The Post reported, but only 2.6 million of those had been administered. (This means that 1 in 125 Americans have received the first dose of the vaccine.) Trump administration officials have disputed these numbers.

The hospital in Grafton, a city of nearly 12,000 just north of Milwaukee, received hundreds of doses of the Moderna vaccine in mid-December.

The hospital said 57 vials of the vaccine, which must be kept at low temperatures to remain viable, had to be tossed Saturday when they were discovered outside the refrigerator. The hospital opened an internal investigation, and on Monday, said it had found that a worker “inadvertently removed” the vials on Friday while reaching for other items in the refrigerator, and then failed to put them back in an “unintended human error.”

The hospital apologized, saying, “We are clearly disappointed and regret this happened.”

But on Wednesday, the hospital said the employee had changed their story and “acknowledged that they intentionally removed the vaccine from refrigeration.” After terminating the employee, the hospital said it notified police.

Grafton police said that the FBI and the Food and Drug Administration have now joined an investigation into the incident.

It’s not yet clear what motive the employee may have had to destroy the vaccines. A spokesperson with the hospital said it would release more details about its investigation on Thursday.

Charlotte church hosting mass gathering months after fatal coronavirus outbreak

As state health officials warn against large gatherings to ring in 2021, a Charlotte church is hosting a gathering that’s expected to bring out hundreds of attendees, according to NBC affiliate WCNC.

The United House of Prayer is hosting an event to honor the head bishop of the church. Bishop CM Bailey, the leader of the House of Prayer franchise, which is made up of close to 150 churches, is visiting the Charlotte location Saturday and Sunday.

House of Prayer churches from all over the area are expected to bring members in by bus, WCNC reports.

In October, the Charlotte church hosted a week-long convocation event that drew thousands of members of the church from all over the country. The Mecklenburg County Health Department said at least 208 coronavirus infections and nine deaths were traced back to the event.
