Trump called to reopen April of last year like an idiot after a month of soft lockdown. Your lack of understanding of exponential growth still to this day is amazing. 3/4 of COVID American deaths are on Trump and his supporters, own up to it.

There are times in a Presidency where leadership challenges come to the forefront and demonstrate either the President is a great leader or a failure. Until 2020 Trump had not faced these type of inflection points - then two of them arrived in an interval of months -- the COVID pandemic and racial protests. Trumps failure to effectively address either of these issues demonstrated that not only is he a failed President but unfit to serve in office.

Leadership comes from the top. A rational President leads by example and makes decisions aligned with traditional public health practices and puts existing plans to address pandemics from experts into action. Trump merely pushed absurd medical claims and drove America down a path that led to the world' largest death toll. His behavior in a time of national crisis is unacceptable.

Trump was unfit the moment he spouted birther nonsense on the national stage, you just didn't want to see it. Hell, for many, he failed decades prior during the Central Park five fiasco.

Again, there is plenty to lay at Trump's feet. And if you're going to talk about leadership, I'd be mildly (only mildly, mind you) curious who you actually think was a good/great leader in your lifetime.

But laying the "burning of the house" as CO put it at Trump's feet is just partisan stupidity and nothing short of what I'd expect from folks such as yourself.

This same analogy was used in 2008-9 and it was baseless then and it’s baseless now. There is not a functioning economy while Covid is out of control. There are plenty of countries to choose from, show me the country that did it right in your opinion, or even the state. I’ve looked at Sweden for example and they still suffered contraction and unemployment. The only countries that have weathered well were the ones that controlled the virus with basic compliance measures.

I don’t disagree with this mostly. Blaming the entire government is a bit much imo.

We have actually been very generous toward people who are displaced from work due to Covid. Small businesses have suffered unduly, while large businesses have reaped not only government funding that was unnecessary but also grabbed more and more market share.

However, I don’t know if these things were avoidable.

The past four years the shelter director has been, according to you, Ted Bundy. Well, that was kind of a mess. Now we have a new guy, Epstein. The point, which seems to escape you, is both party candidates at this point are terrible choices, the entire system is broken and corrupt, and we are desperately in need of a viable third party.
