Lots of evidence that the "vaccines don't work" to protect against getting infected. Even Fauci has admitted as much. And we don't know yet about longer term side effects. (Lots of evidence that the vaccines harm the immune system of many/all(?) who get vaccinated, to a varying degree. Postulated that the harm is likely "cumulative"... each jab does more harm.)

My wife works in a hospital. EVERYONE* who enters gets their temperature taken (fever is a sign of possible covid) and must leave if temperature is elevated... and everyone is also required to wear a mask at all times. Hospital wouldn't go to all that "bother" if not for good reason.

Seems to me your opinions are stronger than "the science".

*That's patients and visitors. Doctors and staff are supposed to take their own temperature daily before coming to work.

There has never been a vaccine that's 100% in preventing infection and there never will be. In addition, the Covid vaccines were never advertised to be 100% in their efficacy nor in their effectiveness.

Too many Covidiots out there keep wanting 100% guarantees when in fact they have no intention of taking the vaccine for whatever reason.

Simply, there will be breakthrough infections and not because of the variables in the vaccine but because of the many other variables (e.g. underlying medical conditions).

The same is true for people that have recovered from a prior Covid infection...some will have reinfections because there has never been 100% Natural Immunity.

Stay healthy, good nutrition, social distance, wear a face mask just in case you're sick but do not know it and don't get cocky indoors to believe in error that you're 100% protected because you've survived a prior Covid infection or you've been vaccinated.

Delta Variant and Omicron Variant, both Variants of Concern that were birth in low vaccinated populations are teaching us that prior infections and vaccinations do wane from one month to the next month even though we've known this fact for +200 years with other diseases.

• The big difference here in North America, vaccination will exponentially lower your risk of being hospitalized or death in comparison to someone that's not vaccinated.

Delta Variant is teaching those not vaccinated a valuable lesson about life/death whereas Omicron Variant is teaching everybody that breakthrough infections and reinfections will happen because there are no guarantees.

Last of all, stop being a Covidiot...we do know the long-term effects for those not vaccinated that have recovered from a Covid infection. Thus, if you fear vaccination...stop being an asswipe and bitching about wearing a face mask and social distancing with the goal to let Delta Variant / Omicron variant to invade your body to fuck your cells in many different positions.

This is very simple, condoms work to stop viruses, vaccines do not stop viruses entering your body and trying to replicate each and every time they can.

The important thing is how fast they are disposed of.

I'm going to do what we've always done with virulent diseases in the past. Get the vaccine, and go on with the day.

Before the shots, I of course dutifully wore the masks and used hand sanitizer and washed hands when getting home. After the second shot in early May I stopped wearing the mask, and sometimes used sanitizer if I felt like it. At this point I just don't care about Omicron, because now that 6+ months has passed, and I tested NEGATIVE twice in the past two months on fears I may be contagious because I was exposed to someone who had symptoms, I know the vaccines are working, for ME.

I'll be getting the third dose in two weeks, and I'll continue just going on with life without masks (unless required by local mandate), without using hand sanitizer, and without washing hands. Like normal people who do not fear SCIENCE!

Omicron in Madrid, where around 90% of the population over 12 y o is vaxxed, feels like a tsunami, daily cases way higher than we´ve had during the whole covid saga. According to the provincial president, it´s not even a flu, more like a cold, which goes along the impression of my friends with it right now. All very new though, case numbers made a crazy spike, dunno how high it will go, or whether they will end up filling hospital beds. So far hospitalizations are way lower than where last year at the same time, but the effect of the current wave on hospitals remain to be seen.
That being said, about to go to the gym here, businesses are still free to operate as they did before covid, besides a more or lesss enforced mask mandate
