Covid lockdown panic was caused by Fauci's "1% error"!

Hard to get a grip on the numbers, in the article below, published today, it states 36% of the UCI rooms in Madrid are occupied by covid Patients. That s quite a bit less than what I read a couple of days ago. One hospital in a part of Madrid mist severely hit this morning came with a claim of 90% of the ICU rooms occupied, and them starting to send patients to other hospitals.
New special pandemic hospital should be ready in November and the temporary hospital at Ifema supposedly could reopen at short notice. More restrictions expected anyway

Not seeing this anywhere else in the world, so confused, sounds like bollox to me.

Shielding / people at risks support to stay home stop about 6weeks ago ??? if so could be getting around them for a mini 2nd wave, that's what's happening in the UK.

Spain looks like Positive Tests already peaked and heading down.

They've re opened those hospitals here, odd army contact said they took them down back in May, so likely just scare stories.

Should blow over in the next month worst case, then this is over and 100% nearly of population have been exposed to it.

I see WRB is making excuses for why masks made zero difference to the Covid LOL, but a few weeks ago, bits of shitty cheap cloth over our faces will save us all, from a tiny microscopic virus that can pass through cloth like it's not there.

How the sheep are easily led, bit of fear and OMG panic, please take my rights and everything and save me.

I guess you mean the 90% ICU occupancy, I link it below, it´s in Spanish, title is easy to understand though. It´s one of the restricted areas of Madrid, an acquaintance has a fighting gym there and they keep training as usual, as many do in the other gym I train in another restricted part of Madrid. Government said the fines will start tomorrow, let´s see, but if they start checking the gyms there it´s bad for all Madrid as the face mask at all times, no contact policies are disregarded in many fighting gyms over Madrid (not so much in regular fitness/weightlifting gyms) and they were left alone so far. One raid published in the papers might change all that.
As of the UK I saw the mindset is pretty bad there, I had higher hopes from Boris Johnson, but wouldn´t want top spend the rest of the pandemic in the UK. Far from sure it´s gonna blow over in a few weeks unfortunately, with Fall and the fever season coming up.

I don't not believe you, I don't believe the report, likely 1 hospital because there putting them all into 1 that at 90% but Wave 1 UK only hit 25% it's peak on 8th April Government told us this.

So far, not that I'd pay any attention to, but zero effect for me, so all good so far :)

Gym still going, opened up all the lockers ( they shut lockers to stop the spread, but gym equipment was fine, and the screens to book classes LOL ) 1 or 2 where open, wire cutters LOL, and open till 10pm, much better.

But, if people don't behave, with rules that won't make any difference then they'll have to do harder restrictions. But people will buy that pubs shutting 1 hour earlier stopped the 2nd wave, rather than just there is no damn 2nd wave. ( maybe in Spain confused )

Sure, I´d understood.
Good to read about the gyms, I thought it looked bad for them in the UK, an Irish gym I´m following on Insta posted yeterday they had to close because of covid restrictions, in France with now over 10k cases a day, fighting gyms seem to be running full without any restriction, saw kids BJJ classes loaded as well, in a mid size city. In Spain, the issue is not only legal restrictions, many parents are too scared to send their kids train contact sports, plus without masks. Fighting sports had a bad press here to begin with. Not the toughest bunch those spaniards...

Gyms going well, better not shut, from 116kg to 107kg since opening and weights up single arm lift over head from 14kg to 18kg hard to gain strength and lose weight so that's my week off diet ( bad ) weeks.

Plan to be 50 in 3months and not fat, maybe not fit but not fat.

6ft 2 so not too bad.

Good on you, keep it up, this virus should encourage all to be healthier, yet government decided locking in people, disallowing them to even jog (in Spain) while keeping tobacco and booze stores open was the way to go. Joke on public health...
Same weight here btw for 179cm (5ft10.5), but muscular, shed quite a bit of the powerlifter look along 7kgs since the beginning of the quarantine. I like mass though, and testosterone... but lighter is probably healthier

You can now join the "Life over 50" thread btw in the Health section, I think 3 months short is allowed :)

Had it already, wasn't a big deal, I'm generally fit just eat too much, hence not an issue, despite have mild heart issues and used to have asthma my peak flow test barely moves the needle, but can hold breath for 2mins under water while free diving so I get by!

Lighter is making the Mountain Bike handle better that's for sure, don't need as much grip from the tyres to turn :)

6 mile hill walk today in my near rigid proper climbing boots and 10kg's of water on my back, toughening up, get back into mountaineering soon, hopefully.

Sleep, up at 7am for 2 school runs killing me, left my car with her till she gets hers back, easier :)

Wow, gyms to close in Paris and a few other french cities, I think on monday. Idea has been floated in Madrid today, where we have more cases than in Paris. New restrictions to be announced on Friday in Madrid. Suspect we are fucked.
Only good thing is the Madrid government apparently still hasn't received the judicial approval to sanction non respect of the latest district closures. Expected shortly.

They're expected to reveal a colour coded map sometime today or maybe they've already have to show the areas in France that will have more restrictions...restrictions to target specific industry groups (e.g. restaurants, bars, cafes, sports, cultural events).

Paris Ile-de-France is a hotspot and being looked at closely as an example.

They need to speed up test results and better contact tracking to target specific areas and to avoid larger restrictions.
