Usually they backdate up toa few days, Madrid news might look like this :

"900 new cases in Madrid,blahblah, to which Madrid Health department added 3000 cases from former days"
Not sure about the death count you refer to, it seems it spiked 1 day end of last week particularly, it´s been around 30 for a while otherwise. Case numbers much higher than in the UK, u mentioned Birmingham Locked down for around 150 infections/100k people (over 2 weeks ?).- Today´s numbers for Madrid city put that number there at 673, some districts over 1000.

And yes, what they did with healthcare was quite disastrous when lots of hospitals in the country were underused and the emergency rooms empty during the quarantine. Public healthcare in Spain (population below 50million) was already dealing with long waiting list and they cancelled 550k surgeries between March and May (2 months lockdown). some hospitals in Madrid already restarted cancelling non essential surgeries last month.

Another thing that bugs me is Testosterone levels, it is documented they have roughly halved in the male population since the 1950s (one can double check the exact numbers, I´m writing from memory). Dealt with endos in Spain for TRT and they aim for quite low test levels even with treatment (I´m going around with high test levels). Low test and weak, easily scared population probably go hand in hand. Higher life expectancy might come with lower test levels (low test levels by today´s standards, which are quite low already, are considered unhealthy still), but we see this year at what cost (aren´t humans supposed to have a spine ?). Had we had the same test levels the people had when Spanish flu came out, we might have avoided much of the lockdowns.

Most of it doesn't even make any sense, job losses, extra deaths being caused, cancers going untreated / diagnosed late, that's not PC OMG people are dying of a virus you can't see, only 10 in the UK yesterday compared to 1600 deaths per day, but those aren't PC either, OMG the 10 had families, but the 1600 nope none PC to even mention.

Positives are only high as there doing mass testing and the test is over sensitive there using it's more of a had you ever had it test than a have you got it test.

Which is why they are pumping up the numbers for more lockdowns and crap.

They just can't let it go, it's curve is exactly like the Flu's curve shorter time as faster spreading that's all, can't be fast spreading but also not over already that's not logical.

The Positives could to be fair and objective be that 4-6 months and you can catch C19 again.

But nobody seems to have symptoms, so maybe it's the people who hasn't it with no symptoms the first time didn't have it bad enough to build immunity?? if so big whoop they'll keep getting, be able to spread it maybe, but don't suffer so ignore.

Or maybe they have got symptoms ( don't know of anyone who's had it for 3-4months ), but there are no deaths as if it didn't kill you the first time, it's unlikely to kill you the 2nd time and might of built up some immunity why nobody appears to have it.

Having had Covid seems a little more complicated than showing antibodies for it, and some studies claim around 35% of the population is immune to it thanks to antibodies developed against other diseases, but fwiw both my wife and myself tested negative for covid antibodies. Wished it was the contrary.

Turns out turning Norway to Sweden, Norway for 2 years has had very bad Flu deaths leaving less vulnerable people for Covid to kill, where as Sweden got off lightly, which just brings the average deaths for both countries back to well average.

And the UK extra Deaths are only because of the lockdowns not the virus.

Also Masks, 10days after every country puts masks in, there a huge spike, why they didn't put them in at first, but to create fake 2nd wave in the UK, they actually make it spread faster LOL

And existing T-cell immunity from previous Corona viruses, turning it into a BS only 10% have had it so if we don't control / vaccinate 10xs the deaths, sweden we'll just ignore that burnt out same as UK or NYC despite no lockdowns and very little social distancing.

Importance with the "new positive cases" is to tell you where the hotspots are at before the "hospitalizations" that may occur many days later although is lower percentage.

It can also help prevent another full lockdown. Instead, you attack only the hotspots as in putting out the fire and not mess with the rest of the economy that's trying to get back to normal.

In addition, you'll know which city, state needs help instead of allocating valuable resources to those that don't have a problem.

I look at it this way, if I'm going to go on vacation...the U.S. and Brazil will be at the bottom of my list thanks to the media. Without the media, I could have vacation in Italy when they were putting body bags on the streets or stored in churches.

Thus, in the U.S., they tell you the new case count along with showing other important information such as the states doing well and the states doing poorly so that the states / federal can better allocate resources in the fight against Covid-19 and to be transparent.

Similar to what they do with those forest alerts...they tell you and show you where the hotspots are it, power outages, evacuations, number of dead and such...very useful info especially for those that leave in the area or nearby areas.

Now imagine if there was raging forest fires in California, Oregon and Washington but the media didn't report about it or the few that did...said everything was ok...no fires...don't listen to the evacution alerts...now imagine if they did the same with Coronavirus new cases / deaths.
