Just read the bullet points, but :
-I don´t notice it, living in La Moraleja a very posh residential area, it seems people looking a bit out of place get checked on the street by the police, so definetely not a squatters´paradise
- it is a famous issue in Spain, especially Barcelona, I don´t doubt it´s true. Heard from a policeman who trains with us that they have 24 hours only to expel squatters from a house, after which it becomes a much more complicated process requiring a judge´s decision among other things.
- A video is doing the rounds since yesterday in Spain, where a Romanian guy is breaking into an apartment he apparently owns to get it back, saying he applies "Romanian law" rather than the slow Spanish law. That guy is probably arrested by now, it was not very smart to do that in front of journalists. Will check if I can download it through the mobile
 
Btw, we mentioned many times on the forum the collateral damage from the lockdowns, it was announced yesterday that heart stroke deaths had doubled in Spain during the quarantine. Remember the hospital doctors in Switzerland and the US worrying during the lockdowns there because people with heart issues were not coming to the hospital, indeed it came at a cost.
 
It seems the issue with my friend's school is not isolated, sounds nuts, he might spend most of the year in quarantine. One of Spain s young princess also had a classmate testing and she is required to spend 2 weeks in quarantine even though her Pcr cane back negative

Some countries or areas in the same country performed well in their Lockdowns while other countries or areas in the same country have done poorly in their Lockdowns involving collateral damage...patients waiting for treatments (e.g heart patients, cancer patients, neuro patients and so on).

Not sure why but obviously there's a difference in the hospital systems and ability to provide care to other types of patients during the Pandemic.

For example, if you're a heart patient and you know your hospital has had a lot of Covid-19 hospitalizations...you may have more fear to go there versus a heart patient somewhere else that has a hospital with very low or none Covid-19 hospitalizations.

Another issue, some hospitals do not have proper PPE while other hospitals have proper PPE and there's another growing issue of more people trying to treat themselves instead of seeking medical help when they begin to have problems.

Yep I'd bet 40K in the UK, Covid 20K so over twice the deaths, your afraid of Covid but heart attack/stroke kills you.

Add in the longer term cancers where treatment was put on hold ( know a 21year old girl, likely would of beat it, dead in 4months, got put on hold ) and late diagnosis and looking at extra 100K deaths from that.

Covid even there numbers, kills 42K UK, Cancer deaths 160K, Heart 240K, Strokes 200K strangely nobody is afraid of those things.
 
Slight bump in the deaths UK but we knew this the shielding had stopped so all those hiding away scared are all getting it and a few of them are ofcourse dying, most are terminal so dying of virus or merely testing positive for who know.

France, new cases double the peak, deaths still pretty low, hard to read numbers all over the place from 80 to 8.

Germany ( not likely to fiddle numbers ), average 2deaths.

Florida's ( rest of US in same state ) peaked cases , deaths will peak next week.

Sweden, no lockdown heaven averaging 3deaths per day, so doing better than Lockdown places, piss take.

Usually they backdate up toa few days, Madrid news might look like this :

"900 new cases in Madrid,blahblah, to which Madrid Health department added 3000 cases from former days"
Not sure about the death count you refer to, it seems it spiked 1 day end of last week particularly, it´s been around 30 for a while otherwise. Case numbers much higher than in the UK, u mentioned Birmingham Locked down for around 150 infections/100k people (over 2 weeks ?).- Today´s numbers for Madrid city put that number there at 673, some districts over 1000.

And yes, what they did with healthcare was quite disastrous when lots of hospitals in the country were underused and the emergency rooms empty during the quarantine. Public healthcare in Spain (population below 50million) was already dealing with long waiting list and they cancelled 550k surgeries between March and May (2 months lockdown). some hospitals in Madrid already restarted cancelling non essential surgeries last month.

Another thing that bugs me is Testosterone levels, it is documented they have roughly halved in the male population since the 1950s (one can double check the exact numbers, I´m writing from memory). Dealt with endos in Spain for TRT and they aim for quite low test levels even with treatment (I´m going around with high test levels). Low test and weak, easily scared population probably go hand in hand. Higher life expectancy might come with lower test levels (low test levels by today´s standards, which are quite low already, are considered unhealthy still), but we see this year at what cost (aren´t humans supposed to have a spine ?). Had we had the same test levels the people had when Spanish flu came out, we might have avoided much of the lockdowns.
