Just read the bullet points, but :
-I don´t notice it, living in La Moraleja a very posh residential area, it seems people looking a bit out of place get checked on the street by the police, so definetely not a squatters´paradise
- it is a famous issue in Spain, especially Barcelona, I don´t doubt it´s true. Heard from a policeman who trains with us that they have 24 hours only to expel squatters from a house, after which it becomes a much more complicated process requiring a judge´s decision among other things.
- A video is doing the rounds since yesterday in Spain, where a Romanian guy is breaking into an apartment he apparently owns to get it back, saying he applies "Romanian law" rather than the slow Spanish law. That guy is probably arrested by now, it was not very smart to do that in front of journalists. Will check if I can download it through the mobile
