I guess we will see. The good thing for you is that "rapid acceleration" is a subjective term that isn't defined by actual numbers, so you're in your element and able to move the goalposts as needed.
I'm not going to say it can't happen. I try not to discount things before they happen - that's how you work. I like to wait and see. But it sure is fun to take all your claims and supporting claims and throw them in your face when they don't materialize.

Why should I give you my definition of rapid acceleration? I didn't make the claim. I'm not the one on record for moving goalposts.
The article quoted a public health expert, Former FDA commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb, stating there would be rapid acceleration of COVID-19. If you are claiming that there is no rapid acceleration -- despite the number of cases and hospitalizations already hitting daily records in multiple states over the past week -- then you need to quantitatively define your figures on what constitutes rapid acceleration of an infectious disease and why the situation we are seeing now and into the upcoming weeks does not meet that definition.
Didn't we already have this argument at the start of the pandemic and skeptics went real quiet once NY went asymptotic?

You are claiming rapid acceleration is a subjective term -- well if you believe it should be objective then come up with quantitative number than can be tracked for your definition of rapid acceleration of an infectious disease. Then we can compare it to statements from medical and public health experts over the upcoming weeks.
