Muslims gave us the vaccines for Covid. After Biontech, now Moderna.
Moroccan by birth and Belgian by passport: Moncef Slaoui led the development of the Moderna vaccine, which is 94.5% effective
Suddenly, the corona vaccines fall from the trees like ripe apples. And they all have a Belgian link. Pfizer's, with 90% efficiency, comes from the factory in Puurs. That of Moderna, an American pharmaceutical company, is doing even better with 94.5% efficacy, and that too has a Belgian link: Moncef Slaoui (61), immunologist, ex-CEO of pharmaceutical giant GSK and appointed by President Trump in April to 'Operation Warp Speed 'to develop a vaccine as soon as possible. Slaoui is Moroccan by birth, Belgian by passport and also a bit of heart. "I thought: I'm going to study in Belgium for a year. But I stayed there for 25 years."
