"CoVID-19" is over.

Stay on topic and if you've forgotten the theme of the thread...its posted below for you. :D

By the way, I've started my own topics about Covid-19. Do you remember the one about Brazil president and his inept response to the native Brazilians ?

You did invade that thread with your nonsense in my thread. The good thing, you soon disappeared but have now return back to another persons thread (this one). :(

----------

So, six months ago, the scare began -- and the sciency skeptics were like, "Errrm -- where's the (full) data? We need data. You're publicizing numbers and percentages that you *know* to be incomplete -- and when The Boy Who Cries 'Wolf!' (or who closes down whole economies) gets bloodied by the actual (viral) wolf, ....

... and so, to look around the world, those who responded logically have done fairly well, while those who chose not to respond at all, have been bloodied.

BUT IN THIS MORNING'S HEADLINES!!
• A nearly instantaneous "breathilizer"
has performed well in field tests.
• Two promising vaccine trials are underway and *months* ahead of optimistic schedules.
but the coup de grace:
• "Face masks have been shown to reduce the spread of the virus, and we need our businesses to stay open, our schools to reopen, our economy to reopen -- and the data show that the way to avoid another shutdown is to wear a face mask." [paraphrased from somewhere..., despite the fact that the Surgeon General put out the same basic message a month ago, it's now accompanied by the phrase sought six months ago, "the data show..."

Not to be glib at all, but that's it -- that's the climax -- it's all denouement from here.

Is this priced into the market?
I think so. Which means that contributory "good news" will show little market effect, but confidence-sapping "bad news" (like a morphing virus) would have immediate downside effect.

Is this priced into the (U.S.) electorate?
Not by a long shot. Which means that the effect on unemployment, and the growing likelihood of structural employment shocks of long duration, and the attendant effect on U.S. disposable income, on spending, on re-investment, on durables, (and even later) on housing.... Ewwwwww.

Solution(s)??
Sure. Let's have the next generation take the hit. They never complain. Hell -- they're not even born yet. "Pffff!"

So, two denouements -- one short term (through November), and the other going out some years???
You got it, Clyde.

I'll counter you with the Nations you thought there response was great are about to get hammered, so the great was only short term at great cost...

No deaths in my Area for 11days I think it is, most of the UK Death free just Devon and maybe 1 other last to get as there remote ish.

They found using a nebuliser ( didn't try 6months ago, crazy ) greatly reduced the chances of need an ICU and just a CPAP machine works better than Oxygen which Italy was saying months ago, should greatly reduce the deaths if Hospitals take the treatment up and used early enough. (67% from memory)

There are no 2nd waves, anywhere that should have Herd, which if that happens, would disprove Herd until then, they've got Herd.

Allowed into OAP homes from tomorrow, too soon, so I do expect a spike in deaths if anyone listens to the government, which they don't normally.

Those people are all dying of something else, the COVID diagnosis is just an aside. Haven't you been listening to our village idiot? Now if they just start ensuring none of them get enough oxygen, it will kill those virus critters good.

I'm surprise they have not recommended to kill off (execute) young people to kill off the infection spread. :D

Isn't there a movie in which adults die off and only children / teenagers are left in charge ?

YES! I recall that one. All the kids were Australian(?) or had that accent, and the lone adult is a pilot or something who lands there? They called him Captain something...

Then there was Lord of the Flies......

Close but not it. In the Lord of the Flies...Australian kids stranded on an island.

The movie I'm thinking about involved some kind'uv of an apocalyptic event that attacked adults but the kids / teenagers survived.

On the flip side...another movie in which most kids die off from a disease - The Darkest Mind (2018).

The countries I've posted stats / graphs to support their excellent response to Covid-19 are Denmark, Norway, Finland and South Korea.

Countries I've talked about that have a poor performance...United States, Brazil, Sweden, Italy, France and China.

Yet, China and Sweden are doing well in July. Hopefully, they can keep it up.

Not sure what you're countering from the above list. Their stats speaks for them and it has nothing to do with what you say. :D o_O

Note: China was the original epic center. Yet, I love the way they went after the socially irresponsible people and the drone patrol above the cities to remind people to put on their face masks...to those walking the streets with their face masks on their necks.

Maybe someone can write a movie about all the reality denying morons dying. It would even be plausible given a more virulent disease that impact all age groups equally post COVID when they've all turned anti-science into a political party.
