My close friend's brother in law was in NYC hospital on respirator for 2 days before dying Sunday morning at age 59 with no underlying conditions. Her sister could not be with him not only because of quarantine but because she has it too.
Another friend told me her church's religious teacher and sister both died last week in NJ from Corona.
Yeah...people are dying and in a month or so we will all have 2 degrees of separation from somone who died perhaps if we don't stop it.
Just because you live in a basement in the middle of bumfuck no where does not mean people are not dying.
You know what these are:
Refrigerated trucks set up outside a NYC hospital because their morgue is full and they cannot handle the amount of bodies. They said it is the first time since 9/11 they had to do that.
First off, I'm rich af dude and I don't care if you believe that. My basement is the size of a full sized appartment. So let not bring money into this because I breath that shit.
On a more respectable note. Sorry for your loss; if that wasn't a made up story. I'm a bear knuckle truth type of guy if you can't handle the heat from the guns, remove yourself from the range son! I do know that I seen with my own eyes something different, that's what I believe..
I live in a modern village that is not in bum fuck nowhere lol that's funny though. I also live in an extremely populated state. I know when someone is spreading propaganda and you my good sir are doing exactly that.

What you see with your own eyes is meaningless because you are not where the shit is happening. Plain and simple. Go fly into NY or new orleans and tell us what you see if you only believe what you see in person.
There is no propaganda...there are just dead people and if you think all these shutdowns and social distancing is just hyperbole then by all means come to a hospital in a crisis area and tell me what you see.
For starters, the sheer fact that you tell someone that you are "rich af dude and I don't care if you believe that" means that you probably are living from paycheck to paycheck.

Most likely, the kid went to UCC too late, where it was correctly decided he needs to be admitted by a serious facility. In US, if you have no insurance, it doesn't mean you won't get the best care. You need to sign a paper either way. After your life is being saved and you get the astronomical bill, several mechanisms step in: it could be hospital itself, it could be a welfare officer on the hospital premises. Most of the time, in cases like his, it is 100% write-off.
Media, as nearly always, simply lies. I worked in more than a dozen of hospitals (for-profit, non-profit) to buy into this kind of BS. Most people not familiar with reality would believe this propaganda though. Some gullible souls would even quote meaningless 'data' from WHO...
It serves several purposes; well-to-do folks with and regular folks insurance coverage should feel bad, feel guilty, feel outraged and folks outside USA need a reminder after reminder that all their problems are born out the very existence of this country.

What are you really doing?
I don't know if you live in a basement, if your area is fancy or the relative age of your money - on the internet nobody knows if you are a dog. However, I do know that people who have done OK for themselves usually avoid talking about their net worth online and certainly do not boast the size of their basement.
