Also- depending on the rules that the Senate adopts for the impeachment process- the President most likely will have the power to call witnesses to defend himself- separate from the inherent power of republicans and dems to do so. So even if, using your language "the republicans are smart and do not call the Bidens" they also have to deal with the probability that Trump will.
Don't be surprised if Hunter (especially) is not a sympathetic figure in the eyes of the public if Trump decides to use him to demonstrate the swampyness that he walked into. Your think the public is going to bury Trump on that?
And in regard to Joe, let's not forget that all of this clown's appeal and standing is related to his alleged ability to bring Trump down. As I have said before, he will be reduced to rubble, the same way that Mueller was under questioning. No person would hire Mueller to do anything for them after that "Who-am-I and what page am I on" performance before the committee. It would only take the slightest pressure on Joe to see him fold like a lawnchair and have his Visiting Angel lead him away. How will that work out for your leading candidate?

All spell it out for you. A trial comes After the facts are known, or at least thought to be. Many people would think it improper to use a trial of John Trump to hunt for things that Hunter may have done. But not you. Your just like Trump, a "stable genius."
Lets suppose that hunter turns out to be almost as corrupt as Trump. Would that justify Trump extorting a public statement out of Zelensky to the effect that, " in order to get those Javelins I need you to publicly announce the opening of an investigation of the son of my presidential race rival?
