It is a made for Hollywood Script, "Young inexperienced lawyer and scion of the Vice President earns 50K per month on the Board of Corrupt Ukraine Gas Company!". (It's ~1 mlliion per in Trumpian terms.) It looks suspicious as hell. But Truth be told, Daddy was not happy about it. Had a talk with lawyer son. I say, look on the political narratives, especially any originating in the Trump White House from the guy who claims, "Obama was born in Kenya," "Mexico will pay for the Wall," "We're going to replace Obama care with something 'Wonderful', "we are gonna sign a trade deal that's the best the 'World has ever seen'," and "There will be so much Winning," with a jaundiced eye.

A former FBI attorney reportedly referred for criminal prosecution by Department of Justice Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz—for allegedly altering an email connected to the surveillance warrant on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page—was assigned in early 2017 as “the primary FBI attorney assigned” to the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into alleged Russian election interference.

The lawyer, who has been identified as Kevin Clinesmith in media reports, had been incorrectly portrayed by many members of the media as a “low-level” or junior member of the FBI’s legal team.

Text messages obtained by Horowitz, covered in a June 2018 report, showed that Clinesmith had a strong bias against Trump, texting “Viva le resistance” following Trump’s election as well as: “my god damned name is all over the legal documents investigating his staff.”

Clinesmith worked on both the Hillary Clinton email investigation and the Trump-Russia investigation. He would also later become a member of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team and was one of the FBI officials—along with FBI Agent Peter Strzok—who was removed by Mueller after IG Horowitz discovered FBI

You continue to play well the role of a Russian asset. In Russia, if you express an uncomplimentary opinion of Putin privately, though you do your job conscientiously without political bias, you will lose your job if found out. That's not, until Trump, how we rolled in the U.S. There was never any question re Strzok's job performance. He was fired for expressing an uncomplimentary opinion of Trump in what he assumed was a private communication to his girl friend. He wasn't fired for poor job performance but for an unwise expression of opinion uncomplimentary of the "leader." He used ambiguous words that were turned against him. Mueller's purpose was to get rid of a distraction. The White House purpose was to send a chilling warning and use the incident as a pretext for claiming job-related bias in the absence of none. This was no more justifiable than Trump's claiming a Judge was biased against him because he was a "Mexican," when in fact he wasn't, he was an American.

Let's not lose sight of the what are supposed to be differences between Russia and the United States.
