First of all. They are both fully out on their arses and have no career options before them that does not involve burgers and fries so let em flail around and do what they gotta do. Yeh sure, McCabe made a bundle on his book deal. Fine that just means he has the funds to do some really aggressive things legally that involve cannibalizing his swamp buddies. All the better.
McCabe and his suit and the press present this as a case where he is trying to allege that Trump interfered in his case and had him dismissed. Totally overlooking the fact that action was taken upon findings and recommendations of Horowitz.
Okay, whatever. I dont give a fuck about all of that. What I am interested in- and I said this years ago- is seeing the rats begin to cannibalize each other in order to save themselves and said that eventually the civil suits or criminal defenses would begin and the resulting discovery and cross-examination will be a beautiful thing to watch. The media can crow all they want about McCabe's allegations about Trump, but the reality is that McCabe was fired not only for perjury but upon a finding by the IG that he had leaked information to the press. McCabe's denies that and alleges that Comey had full knowledge and had given his approval to the leaking (I think we know that Comey is a leaker himself). As I said at the time "I dont want to be the one to decide which one of those two rats is the bigger liar, but I definitely look forward to seeing McCabe work that as a defense- knowing that Comey will have to testify against him to to save his own arse. It's all too beautiful.
The other thing- and this is major- is that neither McCabe nor Strzok know yet what they will face for criminal prosecutions- including for the issues related to their firing and all the investigative work and related documentation since. They may think they know, but they dont. The DOJ can and will hammer them with indictments as needed to not only provide further basis for having fired them in the first place, to dirty them publicly, and to just generally keep them distraught and broke from lawyers fees- Mueller style. And not always- but usually- courts will table civil suits until related criminal prosecutions are completed. Barr and Durham and create a basis for those clowns to want to drop their suits and plead to various criminal charges at the snap of finger. Particularly for their testimony and cooperation in the investigation of others.
No. No one should go wobbly here. This is a beautiful thing. And as I have said a couple times before: Like what else do they have to do these days. It's not like they have a day job.
Not only is this all going to be good. It is already good. I can name at least one person who does care about these lawsuits. And that would be James Comey. He knows that McCabe in particularly has no way out other than to press forward with his allegation that Comey is a liar.
Smartest one in the bunch is Lisa Page. She flipped early and extensively including with both the FBI and Congress and she is still on board. She will skate with no prosecutions against her and get to keep her law license too. Good. As I repeatedly say, I am willing to pay for performance. And who was McCabes chief counsel, reporting directly to him? Oh that's right. Lisa Page. And she has repeatedly testified that McCabe was in the room countless times when the FISA warrant request was discussed and when McCabe signed off on it, and that problems with it were fully known. McCabe says he knows nothing. Just signed off on it without ever being involved. Yeh sure, as I said, Lisa gonna skate. McCabe. Not so much.
