I was surprised to see that almost every commentator missed the connection Ann was making. The black guy on Grey's Anatomy got into hot water when he called another actor on the show a faggot, then apparently repeated it at some awards show. He was forced to go to rehab of some sort. In the case of Washington, he apologized and at least is making a public effort to "reform" his image.
Mann thrives on the image she projects, as she has a built in audience that supports that.
Were Mann to suddenly become more rational, less of a wild flaming shrew, the appeal would be lost on the klones who just want to see someone sling mud, especially a skinny blond flipping her hair in the process...
