Coronavirus is dead... All time high again...

A lot do go though and remember that the US is only 4.3% of the world population, that leaves a lot people who get their stuff made in China and have to send various business reps regularly. It can't all be video conference.

This may go on for a couple of months to far longer if containment is ineffective. I don't suggest people panic but it is unfortunate there is a vibe that these things are fake news or not serious because containment was successful in most cases. Perhaps the 2009 swine flu was an exception with over 560,000 attributed deaths on top of the usual toll from normal influenza. The flu we can from experience handle, it seems to behave in a range as far as mutations go, this corona virus is novel and might have a nasty trick up it's sleeve or not mutate dangerously at all.

If it gets spreading in the US it will be interesting considering the numbers who will avoid treatment due to copay costs or no insurance at all.

You mentioned tourism so I interpreted that to be vacation / leisure. We'll have to see how it plays out, but compared to the common flu, it doesn't appear to be extremely contagious or exceptionally deadly. I suspect that we will have completely forgotten about this a month from now.

You need to turn off the Chinese media. WHO has been reporting it is extremely infectious for about a week now. You don't build a 1000 bed field expedient hospital for something that is about as infectious as the flu. Nor do you quarantine millions of people. We can't get true numbers on fatalities because the Chinese are hiding them. Rumor has it they're mislabeling death certificates as "viral pneumonia" which is undifferentiable from any of the thousands of different viral pneumonias you can get.. Videos of doctors crying over the number infected are all over the internet.

Really, turn off the Chinese media. Even if it is no more deadly than the flu it's R0 is significantly higher, it's spread mechanism is more effective, and therefore the total death rate will be higher. A virus doesn't need to be "exceptionally deadly" to kill a lot of people. It only needs to spread effectively. The common flu kills metric tons of people a year and most people just sleep it off. However, occasionally it kills normal healthy people too.

There is no downside ahead. Wait til aapl reports earning later today.... Huge beat... And Spy rockets to 350 this week

Markets down after Apple earnings beat. Apple came off a 327 high. I've got a shiny quarter that say it gaps down tomorrow.

I realised that market is perfectly right. Lets say apocalypse hits and half population dies. There will be so much leftover resources to redistribute it doesn't matter if you lost everything in a stock market crash. That is why no matter the only logical thing is to borrow all you can and buy the f***ing dip
Lol...that is funny. Corpses don't buy cars and iPhones.
