We are not now... Why would they say it like that?

If you are not predicting it, you say "We are not predicting 65 million deaths"

If you are predicting it, you say "We are now predicting 65 million deaths"

They chose "we are not now predicting 65 million deaths." and combined both words into that sentence. Are they implying they may predict 65 million deaths in the future?

I can explain that. The whole article was talking about a conspiracy theory that they knew at this simulation that Covid-19 would happen. I only quoted the relevant part, that there was such a simulation and Gates knew about it.

So they are saying that such loss was predicted at the simulation, but they are not predicting that number now.
