That is what the Dems could have done in 2016, let him speak for himself and just go on with a solid campaign. But they would not let anything slide and attakced him on everything he said repeatedly and HRC forgot to actually run for President while Trump was rallying up the base with slogans and promises.

Media is doing that now and Biden looks to repeat the formula if people remind him what Trump said and he does not butcher his speech.

Media is trying to one up him and looks even worse at times...

Can't argue with any of that. And short of something we haven't seen yet, this "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" strategy will result in another 4 years with Trump.

As of right now without any campaigning going on Trump has not lost any ground because of corona because the people who support him still feel the medai caused the crisis and Trump shits rainbows.

We will have to see in June/July when Biden emerges from his cocoon and starts running for President and stops being another TV analyst critcizing Trump.

When Biden speaks lately I feel like Joe Pesci's character on Goodfellas yelling at Spider:

Very easy to know: calculate the "overdeaths" and you will know with high probability.

Overdeaths is the difference between the actual number of deaths and the number of deaths for the same period last year.
