Until they start testing everyone widely --- including all the dead bodies the data will not be reliable.

The problem is more test kits are needed to do this wide-spread testing. And more testing & tracing is needed before they can effectively open up society and end 'stay at home'.

The coronavirus that causes Covid-19 could kill the powerful immune cells that are supposed to kill the virus instead, scientists have warned.

The surprise discovery, made by a team of researchers from Shanghai and New York, coincided with frontline doctors’ observation that Covid-19 could attack the human immune system and cause damages similar to that found in HIV patients.

Lu Lu, from Fudan University in Shanghai, and Jang Shibo, from the New York Blood Centre, joined the living virus, which is officially known as Sars-CoV-2, on laboratory-grown T lymphocyte cell lines.

T lymphocytes, also known as T cells, play a central role in identifying and eliminating alien invaders in the body.

They do this by capturing a cell infected by a virus, bore a hole in its membrane and inject toxic chemicals into the cell. These chemicals then kill both the virus and infected cell and tear them to pieces.
 
Perhaps this is why hydroxychloroquine may be effective for one of the invasive routes of the virus. This would also be why hydroxychloroquine is not effective in all cases. It looks like this fucking virus may have potentially 3 invasive routes.

Similar to MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2 infection of T cells is abortive.

NYC is working to expand its sewage disease monitoring program to cover COVID-19. The levels of COVID-19 markers in the sewage will indicate the approximate number of city residents with COVID-19. My expectations is that this testing will demonstrate that most NYC kids do not have COVID-19 - but only time will tell.

Yeh those sewage studies are always creepy and more revealing about society than I want to know about sometimes. They can measure recreational drug use, antibiotic use in area, so on and so forth. I wonder what those sewage studies look would look like in Wuhan.

One of the citizen concerns when they rolled out the sewage studies in Cary, NC was if police would use the results to track down people using drugs. The city pointed out that the tests are done at major sewage plants and it is impossible to trace back a results to a single residence (I will ignore the possibility of doing DNA testing). The idea is to look at the levels of markers for disease and opioid use.
