New York is obviously driving the U.S numbers. That's fine because New York is obviously a U.S problem. But for analytical purposes it does obscure the fact that some states such as California and Washington and Oregon have done fairly well and their curves look more like some of the countries that are looking sort of toppy. New York likes to argue that it is an international city so and so forth and so got hit early. Not really. Washington state got hit hard early and also has a lot of international arrivals. They got off to a fast and miserable start with a nursing home outbreak and then some others but seem to be doing fairly well now- it's all relative of course. They did some some aggressive things to help themselves and Trump helped by closing the foreign arrivals. New York dicked around for a few weeks too many.
