Cornix's TA Performance

T. Sykes should enter the contest. He's a profitable penny stock trader that uses basic TA accordingly to some of his Youtube videos.

Surf said that T. Sykes has posted live trade videos and broker statements. Thus, how come surf doesn't challenge T. Sykes TA use.

Maybe TA users that profitably trade penny stocks are not eligible for surf's challenge or maybe T. Sykes use of TA doesn't qualify him as a TA user via surf standards because T. Sykes uses other tools with his basic TA.

I don't know wtf you're talking about, but you post ~10x a day (>20 today alone) and you can't manage a paper-trading contest? You're for real?

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know collective2 well at all, but due to this thread I went poking around over there, and it seems that all you'd have to do is post your occasional trade and they take care of the rest.

Quote from marketsurfer:

Thanks for keeping it real so far---- I think, now that the trades will be scrutinized, you will learn that 20% consistent annual returns on capital deployed is admirable performance. surf
Yes, I agree. Sure there will be outlier performances from time to time, but those kind of returns are not sustainable. An average 20% consistently year in year out is a world class performance.

The wishful thinkers and true believers will disagree, but as you say, the very nature of the market makes most of their claims impossible.

Makes sense corn. Thanks for keeping it real so far---- I think, now that the trades will be scrutinized, you will learn that 20% consistent annual returns on capital deployed is admirable performance. surf

Well, my trades are scrutinized for quite some time already, just not on ET, so it's not new experience already, rather a development of transparency. And I will still consider it a shame if only make 20% by June 2014. :)

Quote from atticus:

Why don't you both measure yourselves by joining collective2 and posting the quarterly results here? Cornix, one trade last week in NQ, so it wouldn't be a problem of signal frequency.

Yea, going to get busy to find out if C2 can be a way to go for me. Two trades last week BTW.

Quote from RichardRimes:

2 trades...a win of 375 on 6/4 and loss on 6/5 of 250...unless I'm not reading the blotter correctly..net gain of $125 for week ending June 7th.

Those figures are NQ points/ticks (CTS doesn't use comma to separate ticks from handles), not $ figures. I use this way because $ figure is none of anybody's business and can greatly vary depending on size one trades anyway without the slightest change in a strategy/tactics.

Quote from atticus:

Sure, ok, but what about Surf and his "PDs" against Cornix and TA. No need to post screenshots and waste time with commentary. We could establish a betting pool as well. How about each puts-up $500 and winner takes it after x-date?

I don't want to compete with anyone but myself. Just going to keep posting how it goes, good or bad score, we'll see. :)

See no reason to put unnecessary pressure on myself and Surf. Trying to perform is about the stupidest thing a trader can do, puts you in a position prone to forcing the trades. Let it go naturally as it goes.

Quote from marketsurfer:

I am open to challenge any TA user, not just corn, to a $500 collective2 contest organized by Atticus starting in sept Only parameters is it needs to be directional trading and no derivatives. But I doubt anyone will step up, remember the TA folks needed 50k as missed opportunity costs to participate in a 10 day combine. What assclownery! surf

Providing blotters which everybody says are looking good is enough for me. So you're free to say I refused to participate, yes. :)

Because you über-traders have such short memories I remind everyone this is Cornix's TA Performance journal. If you want to set up a contest, with all the attendant disclaimers and rules and complications ad nauseuem etc. please do it elsewhere. If it involves marketsurfer do it in his journal or, better yet, start a new "challenge" thread to keep it simple and clean. Thanks.

Then why do it publicly at all?
