Wow! Are these pirates with badges on federal civil rights violation trial? Unreal! And the middle video clip pissed me off as a guy in the army gets slapped for no reason by a guy who dishonored my Marine Corps. I'd like to slap hell out of him for what he said to the soldier.
And the first clip. A couple cigarette buts out the window. Ok. THEN, the women are having their their asses and snappers felt up inside their clothes. And for what? Marijuana. Are you shitting me?????
And the last clip. I'm stunned. The cops basically opened fire on two different vehicles that matched a bolo. My answer: this isn't fucking Iraq! Absolutely stunning!
Those of us who did the job, used to say 15 years ago that cops are their own worst enemies. Since then to now, the change in law enforcement is beyond my recognition.:(

When I was a kid I watched a tv series called Adam-12, I think it was.
THOSE guys represented what a police officer should be.

Today's larger metropolitan police forces have morphed into a paramilitary Gestapo. They no longer obey the very laws they're paid to enforce.

Funny you say that. I still watch Adam-12 re-runs today. Those guys represented what law enforcement should be today imo...

I, of course, had to make arrests at times, and if I knew the jail had served their last meal, I'd run through the Wendy's drive through, and buy the person I arrested a burger and fries regardless of their crime(s). That was if they weren't spitting, and biting. Police Officers now laugh at me when I tell them what I used to do.:( That's sad. For $2.11, I could have a very calm person who's had something to eat which I personally paid for, in my cruiser, and I didn't have to fight them as they went to jail...

These new breeds (not all of course), of law enforcement today are nothing more than wanna be storm troopers with pure power. I recently took down a MASSIVE wall board I had with police patches I collected back then from guys I worked around, and numerous out of state police officers I met. I'd like to put it back up in my home office, but just can't bring myself to do it knowing what I know now...:( This "change" hasn't been a good change in more ways than one...:( :( :(

I used to watch that and "CHIPS." And "Dragnet" many years before.

I don't think the typical cop ever was like those cops.

They were more like "Car 54, Where Are You" and "Police Squad." :D

You'd know better than most, but it seems like every time the airlines are caught slacking, or when they make a major mistake that ends in a crash- then the whole company or even industry revamps from the bottom up. i.e. More security is added, or more flight training becomes required before allowing pilots to fly, etc.

Of course it's the "big gov't"- the feds that largely control you guys, Is it not? Maybe the big boys just need to take control, and put more regulations on localized police forces.

I don't know- maybe that sounds repulsive to some, but, Could it work?

This is a point that I think can be expounded upon.

We say, "The cops shouldn't be wearing combat gear."

So let's send them out on the street with a whistle and a stick- oh yeah and a gun just in case they need to use it as a last option.

Only problem is the gang bangers and rednecks all have semi-automatic weapons that can shred holes in their asses like swiss cheese.

Then we say, "I wonder what's making these cops so jumpy? Why can't thay relax like Andy Griffith and stop over re-acting."

So, I guess what I'm hearing is: If we send a marine into a hostile environment, he needs to be wearing the latest in protection technology. But cops, they should be ok wearing a bicycle helmut and cotton shirt when dealing with dangerous and hostile individuals.

Then again maybe pspr's buddy who got smacked around in the back of a cruiser didn't deserve it as much as his dad who never taught his son to have respect for the law and its officers.

Not really.
Obvious to me, your assumption is based on what you've seen in the lame stream media and not based on cold harsh reality of the industry.
