And let's also suppose he got out of hand with you or one of your flight attendants- making threats and/or physically getting aggressive...
Let's say you got a bit excessive in your counteractions and delivered this guy a severe ass whooping...the way this cop did...

In my town we have had a string of C store robberies. I am at a C store, see two young men walk out of the store. I go to another C store, just down the road, they show up also. I file this in my noggin as being suspicious. A few days later someone that looks similar to one of the guys (they looked like brothers) gets arrested, has his photo posted online for B and E. I know a cop that investigates major crimes. One day he is sitting around playing with a tablet, showing new badge or emblem on it, I mention the suspicious stuff and the recent arrest to him. You know what he says to me?
" I sure wish someone would give us a lead in that case".
Anyone concerned with these videos needs to arm themselves with knowledge of the law, refuse searches, don't give consent, don't talk to police, and legally fight back.
None of these videos showed any brutality against criminals armed with guns.
That which is done in the dark will be brought to the light holds true in the new era of everyone having video running all the time. Get your own in car camera to protect yourself. Make sure it can upload auto if pulled over so that thieving pig cant rob you.

The ONLY thing that could have possibly warranted such a beating would be self defense on the part of the arresting officer. How was the cop physically threatened by the truck driver?
Now you're just trolling/playing games.
When threatened it's generally legal to respond with similar force.
If your hypothetical passenger is pushing and shoving and I decapitate him with the cockpit crash ax then I'll likely be charged with murder.
If OTOH he pulls a bomb out of his underwear threatening to take the plane down and I respond with the ax. I'd likely be lauded as a hero.
Same pilot same weapon same dead asshole, two entirety different perceptions by both the law and the public.
Getting beat up by police for refusing to sign a ticket isn't warranted PERIOD

Before making any final judgments, lets first take a look at the network and affiliates you are going to for your "news" material.

I'll concede that you may just be ignorant, and that perhaps you are unable to understand the way these "news" organizations and their corporate sponsors can lead their subscribers (YOU) by the nose.
I'll try to point some things out, but I can't make any guarantees you'll understand why yourself and others are so susceptible to these doctored stories.
Let's just look at the story's headline: TRUCKER NEARLY BEATEN TO DEATH FOR NOT SIGNING TRAFFIC TICKET.
Do you see how this puts an image in your head, of some poor guy who survived a beating only by a thread of his life?
The headline is also is telling you that it was because of a traffic ticket that he was beaten to the cusp of death.
The headline is completely non factual, and misleading
It was due to his resisting arrest, and not the traffic violation that caused him to sustain the injuries he did.
There is also no proof at all showing that this guy almost died.
The trucker, his lawyer, and NBC are the only ones I've heard make that claim.
Sure he ended up in a trauma hospital, but it's just not that hard to get yourself into one of those.
Many in the fields will tell you, "trauma" is synonymous with "drama"; meaning there's a lot of folks that show up there who are, well, for lack of a better term, just being pussies.
You start believing folks who claim to have had traumatic experiences, and you'd better be willing to accept nearly the entire population.
Come to think of it, you are the only one I've heard from so far who obviously has just blindly swallowed the shit this "prime time" investigation has been feeding you.
NBC. LOL! We might as well be discussing an episode of Law and Order.
The narrator begins this prime time story with more of the same lies and bullshit.
"We investigate why a man, who committed no crime, was nearly killed over a traffic ticket."
This time there is another false fact that has been added to this sensational story headline:
He says the trucker committed no crime.
That's not what appears in the police report, and the man never made any denials of his resisting arrest, or refusing to sign the ticket.
The only reason they can even try to say he committed no crime, is because once the media and lawyers jumped in and started telling their side of the story, it was obviously a cluster-fuck circus event and the d.a. had to drop it.
Not signing a ticket is a jailable offense btw, and refusing to go to jail after committing an arrestable offense is also against the law.
Your statement below clarifies where your issues on the matter lie. You clearly have been mislead as to why he sustained his injuries.

The cop was never convicted of such a crime after two years, and the courts haven't allowed the traumatized trucker to sue the cop for injuries either.
I'm not trying to halt your ant-police brutality movement, either.
I commend you for your hard work and efforts to educate on the matter, too.
I'm just suggesting you take a better wiff of the stuff your slinging.
If you read the report, which I know you didn't- the arresting officer is describing the trucker to be somewhat slow mentally, but incredibly strong.
This is known to many as "tard" strength.
So to put it simply, having tard strength is when someone is really slow, but really freaking strong too.
When these mentally challenged individuals won't comply with reasonable requests, they often are able to exhibit displays of extraordinary strength- far surpassing what most people of average intelligence can even imagine.
These can be quite scary moments for a lot of individuals, including cops.
Often times insubordinate retarded individuals will make quiet, but fierce growls while glaring through their would be subduers eyes like they were hungry for their brains.
Granted, this cop could be pretty lightweight upstairs too, and didn't include within his report every single little mannerism the trucker was giving, but clearly he and his little 100 pound partner had their hands full trying to subdue this 220+ trucker.
What do you expect the cop do do? Just say, "oh well, I guess he's retarded so I'll let him leave without signing the traffic ticket"?
That kind of negligence could cost him his job for sure.
People have to know, that when presented with a ticket, they must sign it, or they will be taken into custody.
The cop also tried to use the tazer to subdue him, but couldn't get it to work. So he and his little partner were left to resolve the issue by trying to subdue his arms with control holds.
They had to use all of their weight to pin him to the ground- this in itself can cause some pretty decent abrasion injuries as well as broken bones.
If this was indeed a case of an individual(the trucker) flexing his tard strength, then it's quite understandable why these officers would have had to choke out his airways, and/or break bones to get him to comply.
Also, what the hell was up with that little pill bottle full of salt?
All those long hours on the road; I wouldn't d be surprised to learn he is a meth or cocaine addict.
Perhaps the salt was some fake dope he was going to sell or had recently been sold. It's shady to say the least.

If you would have read my entire post, you would already know that I watched the video and read the police report.
It's a junk case, but I'll still give you my "for dummies" assessment of the situation:
The trucker was swerving.
The trucker was driving over his allowed time limit.
The trucker was argumentative about his offenses.
The trucker didn't sign the traffic ticket.
The cop gave him fair warning that refusing to sign the ticket would result in his arrest.
The trucker still refused.
The trucker resisted the cops attempts to arrest him.
The trucker exhibited tard-like strength while resisting and continually trying to escape submission.
The cop tried to use the tazer on the trucker but it was broken.
The cop and his little 100 pound sidekick partner tried to subdue the 220+lbs trucker with various control holds of the arms and neck.
The two cops had to use their entire combined weight to bring the trucker to the ground and keep him pinned. This caused a fracture to the trucker's arm bone. Also abrasion wounds to his face and body.
They had to choke him unconscious in order to overcome his tard-like strength.
Trucker also had in his possession, a pill bottle full of what looked like narcotics but turned out to be salt.
The trucker since has tried to sue the cops for his injuries and self proclaimed trauma, but has been unsuccessful in doing so for at least two years after his arrest.
Trucker would have definitely saved himself a traumatic ass whooping, and a whole lot of drama had he just signed the ticket and complied.
I'm going to add this video to my How to Deal With Cops thread, as I think people should know this is not how one should behave towards officers.

You are a moron, a cops job is to detain/restrain criminals, how does fracturing a guys skull, and breakikng his orbital bone help them detain someone?
They arent supposed to just start throwing punchs, even if a person is resisting arrest. They are supposed to figure out a way to detain them. And in this day and age when they have all kinds of new toys to put someone down you mean to tell me that the best decision was to beat the guy within an inch of his life as opposed to using a tazer or mace? Give me a break.
