8GB should be plenty kickass for almost anyones purposes unless they are doing some crazy video design work or something of that nature.
Do you connect the 13" to external displays for charting?
Another cool thing about Macs is they work so well with the Apogee stuff which is badass, basically made for macs.
On the PC side I have RME and Lynx which is right there also, but I really am thinking about going MBP. Just need to make sure Nuendo/Cubase DAW software runs ok on it, heard some crap about it.

I have an Apogee Duet and an (Apogee killer) RME Babyface (actually one blue, one silver).

babyface is so badass and upgradable so i have to go that route and the RME stuff is so solid from what i hear. Gotta hand it to Apogee though at first with the duet, such a sick device at the price. No converters even came close at that price range.
thats crazy you have them both... good stuff man. I am a poor bastard with some Behringer gear right now lol.

I use the RME for headphone listening and XLR to some Genelecs (w/sub). The converters on the RME are insane, better than my Benchmark. I usually listen thru my Denon D7000 or Ultrasone Signature Pro. Senn IE80 and HD25 when flying.
I do a bit of EDM production, but just as a hobbyist. Spend some time on gearslutz.
