contingency plans---

sitting in the trading room, bored on a saturday morning, waiting to go snow boarding this afternoon in the fresh fallen powder, a thought came to me---if terrorists or a natural disaster happens to hit the NYSE, CBOT, CME, etal, do these exchanges have contingency plans such as alternative locations, data back up, etc. ?? do you have a plan should the unspeakable happen ??

Yes. They do.
For example, when I worked at an investment bank at NYC, the production database was replicated to London every 30 seconds or something like that. I forget the exact time interval. It has been a while.......
