Going to have to give the Obama administration some credit here. Historically, after an collapse of a real estate bubble and an credit crunch, it takes a long time to recover.
Obama endured the worst economic downturn, which started under Bush, since the great depression. This downturn combined with demographic challenges could have easily lasted decades. The Obama administration and business leaders got together and stopped the world economy from going into a negative feedback loop. We thank you, sir!
Look at Japan. They still have not recovered from their peak as measured by real estate prices or the Nikkei in 25 years. “One square foot of real estate in downtown Tokyo could buy the entire United States” type of thinking is long behind them.
