I dont believe you can request an option 10 years out 99% sure. The simple fact is that no one would make you a market in it.

There was NO open interest in these strikes before those trades so that argument is moot.


These trades peaked a lot of interested from a lot of industry insiders and it was not all that hard to call around to a handful of different desks and get into. These were, as I said before account swaps where the firm who is one BOTH sides of those trades essentially borrowed money from itself at a slightly higher rate to open up some liquidity in account they needed it in. They crossed those trades with themselves.

Yes you can. They are flex options. They have a ton of edge for MM's. They make very wide markets on flex options.
 
I could be mistaken but I dont believe you can ask for a flex option out 10 years... Interesting though... and I surely could be could be wrong.


As far as the 'edge" goes thats very very subjective on a 10 year option the magnitude of time on the other variables is HUGE and the edge may be perceived but there sure is a heck of a lot of risk.

This would be much more believable if it were signed by current members of higher organizations such as congress, senate, governors, the cabinet.. etc.

If she is as powerhungry as some claim, she married a future prez that made it possible for herself to run for the job too. What's so dumb about that?
I'd say: good intuition and able to estimate future possibilities and people. Just what we need right now.

Elliot..for those that get TheStreet.com interesting article by Steve Smith this morning on this very unusual bet...one point he makes is why in the SPX where it is traded in the pit by "gossipy" close knit MM's rather than in the SPY where it could be hidden.
