ET is a really neat thing to watch. 2 years ago, everybody was about catching the trend. Now, everybody is jumping the "mean reversion", "short volatility" train. Not hard to see why: vendors and would-be gurus/mentors always optimize to the last couple of years since that's what makes their mythical systems look best. A classic, current example of this is Maestro: 18 months ago, posting as "abogdan", he was all over trend following. Market changes, hypothetical trending systems start failing, so an alias change later, a new hypothetical system shorting volatility, and he's calling Schwagger trying to bag an interview.
It doesn't take a genius to see how this will all end.
Never, ever trust a vendor unless they can verify the performance in black and white.
